Another theory that I have is that we Homo sapiens had competition. (E.g, Homo Erectus) We managed to survive in the big competition, but we needed uncanny valley to know to be scared of the other species being a threat.

Ahh, that’s why. I always thought that there could’ve been a terrifying predator back in the ancient times that would mimic human faces and that’s why we are so scared of things that don’t look too human

I always imagined it was because of various tribes and groups and nation fighting and going to war, so humans developed this to distinguish people of their group or ethnicity and foreigners.

I used to think it was an instinct to tell different species of humans and to be on fight or flight mode

I like to think it’s our souls protecting us against when demons try to appear human. In the Bible it says that at one point a race of giants, children of the devil, roamed the Earth. And it seems to me that if that’s possible then it’s also possible for demons to sometimes appear human.
