Why is the GPE negative?

It does seem a bit counter intuitive though.
I understand that orbital velocity would be slower at greater distance.
However, in order for a satellite in orbit, to increase it's distance from earth,
it seems, that it would need to increase orbital velocity.
Or maybe, that would only result in an eliptic orbit...
Would it simply need to point it's thrusters towards earth, and slightly tilted forwards,
in such direction, that it would move to higher orbit, as well as slow down ?

Hi, can you calculate the net gravity being felt by an astronaut in the ISS..? taking into account an approximate 90% G + the change in direction due to the movement around the curve.

In my book, this equation is further exceed by Putting G= gR^2/M which I don't understand. It again exceeded by V= √gR^2/m.r ×M. Then V= R√g/R+h .

absolute nonsense. there is no such thing as "orbital velocity" and the initial tangent when you release an object changes immediately the gravitational pull is sustained. ie the initial tangent only applies initially. and not continually.

Gravity is not a force, you are explaining it with newtonian physics, you should consider about general relativity rules.

My questions is why we even get a specific radius between planets. In other words why is Earth 4th planet and Neptun last and Saturn 6th from sun ??

Here's the weird thing though. The moon orbits the earth with no force input at all, just pure inertia. If gravity is trying to pull it toward the earth, like an elastic, why does it not require rockets or something to make it speed up every time the elastic of gravity tries to pull it down and increase its RPM like a figure skater makes themselves spin faster? The moon would still be going the same speed but getting closer and closer to the earth until it collided. It doesn't make sense that it can resist that happening without any power source.

Your formula is badly flawed. This formula was used for satellites in low earth orbit like the space station where the mass of the satellite is negligent as compared to the earth. It's a short cut formula. But this Formula has been brainwashed onto you as a correct formula for the moon tangent force. It is not. When you work out the formula using the moon and earth's mass the answer is 28,000 mph! You can see why they eliminate the mass of the moon because the speed of the moon is less than 3,000 mph. Space station needs to go 18,000 but the moon 3,000. No, something is very wrong. 28,000 mph yes that seems right. This is hidden because it 100% disproves cosmology as we are told. You would have to look down to see the earth horizon but it remains at eye level.

Low earth orbit is all we have done. The earth is most likely very large, and may be infinity large. Our sun is 3,000 milea away. A right triangle is all it takes to verify this fact.
And now look at a time laps to verify with your own eyes. Notice the sun is curving verifying it is traveling in a circle above earth as is the moon. When the sun passes the moon this explains the shadow west to east across the USA. These are all 100% scientific evidence. Re educate yourself and live in the light. Truth, knowledge and love...

The thing I don’t understand about this is that it seems like the moon could weigh twice as much and still orbit at the same radius and speed. But apparently astrophysicists can use radius and speed of exoplanets to determine planetary mass?
