I do not know. I thought that detectives were trained to think logically and be suspicious of inconsistencies. How is it possible not to find at least a little strange that six month after the disappearance, all those articles show up, without any sign of wear or deterioration? 17 years and just because the wife was so cocky and delusional to think that Mike's death would not be brought up when accusing her accomplice of kidnapping. And in the mean time a poor mother pleas were discarded nonchalantly.

She has NEVER had a relationship with her granddaughter and probably never will. I blame the daughter. She's old enough to know better at this point. Get some therapy and go see your grandma before it's too late!

There’s nothing stronger than a mothers intuition. When a mother has a focal point this strong everyone should listen to them instead of deeming them crazy or not being able to let go.

As a mother, my “closure” would be the judge ruling my husbands accidental drowning, collecting myself and moving FORWARD (not move ON).
If my mother in law couldn’t settle with that “closure” and needed to continue investigating, I would support her.
Hearing that Mikes wife took the granddaughter away broke my heart. That little girl lost her daddy now she’s lost her only connection to her daddy (ie grandma) ?!

That pointed right to guilty for me.
