Hey, I have 1.0 of IMC sitting next to that guy, in that plane on the way back from Chicago 😂.

Colton is an amazing pilot! What he’s accomplished in such a short amount of time, at his age is a testament to his love for aviation and will hopefully be an inspiration for young aviators.

I learned b4 GPS.... VOR, DME, Localizer and ADF, and gasp, even timed approaches with zero instruments.

My Dad was kicked off an airport after having a discussion about the pattern. He had an engine failure one week after the discussion. They landed in a bean field. we found out stock T-Craft carb heats don't work very well!

I like the video content, but I hate to be the guy who critique the radio usage really could use some updating. I’m sure you’re an Atp or CFI but there are people listening to you and thinking they could take shortcuts like you do.
My Cfi was an old Atp pilot Air Force pilot and now just teaches and shortcuts you would tell me will get you killed and it’s not correct usage of Radio phraseology telling somebody you have the numbers well what numbers do you have Zulu do you have alpha? You know what I mean.
This is a great video. I’m sure you’re outstanding pilot but there are a lot of people watching this.

I've a soft spot for the C150/152s, spent a lot time with my dad in them, happier times👍😊💜👍 Interesting to see you using it to the fullest.

In Great Britain, I well remember them being as low as £15k or less (if I had a better memory), now a nice one is a shocking £50k 😲😲😲

I got my pilots license at a Cessna pilots center at Santa Maria airport CA in 1975 and we had charts and a VOR and got where we where going with no problem. Could always request flight following. Triangulated 2 VOR's and got our position that way. see ,easy and fun. Learn how to do that and do not rely completely on such modern things as a GPS. Have fun 150"s are great airplanes.

Very nice I bought a C150J as a student in 1988. For model year correctness 1969 = J and 1970 = K; some K's came off the Cessna production line later in 1969. Check Cessna or the AOPA serial # listing to verify. I have a C150M 1975 first year for the "M" but rolled off the line in late Dec74, but its built as a model year 75' M. The FAA data uses production date not Model year.

Good that he hanged on to it as the prices of these sky rocketed after 2000 can't touch a nice one for less then 70k which is crazy. I guess we didn't know how good we had it before 2000.

great video!
I have about 70 hours in 6187G. Colton helped me finish out my PPL.
87G is a fun ride. Being the plane i took my private checkride in means she has a special place in my heart and I love seeing her shared with the world here.

Colton is wise beyond his years, is a great teacher, and I'm impressed watching his career progress.

great plane. great guy. great episode.

We have a 150M that I purchased a few years ago for my kids to learn to fly. Youngest son is using it the exact same way to built time cheaply to get to an aviation career. We have a pretty stacked panel, though, with 2 G5s and a 530W that came with the airplane. Couldn’t touch the price we paid for it at today’s prices…plane has nearly doubled in value since we’ve owned it. I love flying it myself when I get the chance with two other airplanes in our fleet (Bonanza A36 and Cherokee Arrow).

We have two flight schools at my non-towered airport and they also tend to do “bomber” patterns in Pipers and Cessnas. That is a problem when you have 300-400 hour CFI’s who have little to no experience with actual emergencies. Myself and the other more experienced pilots know and understand about keeping the airport within gliding distance…it is frustrating!

Nice stuff, some great words of wisdom and logic here. For lean, don’t they recommend 3000’ for safety reasons? You promised the lady an approach, and said “whatever you want,” then denied her the approach. Tease! Anyone flying with 4” of visible ice that thinks they’re respecting ice and in control is on a suicide mission.
