⚠️I'm going to spoil [manga spoilers] something regarding the dynamic between Makima, Himeno, and Aki, so you have been warned⚠️

Aki paid all of his attention to Makima to the point that he loved her. In reality, Aki was being controlled by Makima into forcefully loving her all along (she used her control-ability). This is why he blushed whenever Makima complimented him in episode 4, and also why he'd preen himself before reporting to her. Aki's love for her becomes even more apparent when you read the manga (chapter 74). The sad part is that Himeno wanted him to understand her feelings for him, and Aki would have most likely reciprocated those feelings at some point, but that became impossible due to Makima's control (There are reasons why Makima would do this, but I'm not going to spoil that much).

Naturally, Himeno disliked that her love was unrequited (she didn't want to lose her 6th partner, especially when she grew to like him too over the years) and so when she became drunk, she unknowingly expressed her frustration with Makima out of jealousy (She basically never talks about Denji, even when being with him, and only mentions Aki and Makima.):

I can still sympathize with her after knowing that the only person she truly cared for [aki] and would willingly sacrifice herself for, was being controlled to fawn over the person she hated most (The manga tries to showcase the lack of control she, and many others irl may have of situation like these). There's more to it than this, but I won't spoil any further, xd.
