Wow Matt, Thank you so much for sharing this !!! 🫶🏻
I have a permaculture design certificate from 2012 😵‍💫
I took Dan Dorsey’s course with the Sonoran Permaculture Guild and rainwater harvesting with Brad Lancaster (they are both very entertaining in person!).
I did some things with what I learned… but mostly I just got sidetracked working. I think I kind of fell away from it because I was seeing some successes and some epic fails.
Now I’m reviewing and revisiting this because I figure no science/technology sits still… and I need to brush up. Your content is SO appreciated. Thankyou!!!
I’m getting some great new insights that answers why I wasn’t having success in all situations.
Given my past working experience with native plants and following Elaine Ingham, I was leaning towards soil ecology succession combined with cover cropping being key…
I recently found syntropic farming. Watching this video, this is all starting to make so much sense! I’m so impressed and appreciative of your free content ❤
I’m currently disabled and live below the poverty line so I can’t afford much. So I just wanted to express my gratitude and give something in exchange, even if it’s just feedback 🙏
I really hope someday to take your microscopy course, fingers crossed I will receive funding for it. I just fought a lengthy court battle with Vocational Rehabilitation services in Arizona and I’m waiting for the verdict… I was asking them for help paying for an occupational skills upgrade to provide services that include new and emerging technologies like this…
As you may be aware, government agencies operate like dinosaurs… they are very conservative and raise a skeptical eyebrow at regenerative agriculture, gig economy/contract consultancy work, etc 🤨.
Anyhow, fingers crossed I (and hopefully others that follow) will soon have access to the educational opportunities that reflect our disability related needs, our unique interests, priorities, and strengths.

Thankyou Matt Powers! You are a beacon… I salute you and your work 🙌🏻

Since AI is here I hope that it finds Permaculture as the only subject worth learning.

matt i love hearing your story and how you refine the effective information about your story, mission, and how it all works! i have been learning from you since 2019 and it is only now that i have the land to really unfold my vision. It's funny I heard someone asking about 45 degree sloped land in the QnA. I was digging terraces as you recommended them haha! To my slope land friend; what i did was listen to nature- fallen trees can dam up against living trees and i just rolled HUGE logs into a 90 degree wall from low to high. I find myself using Hugelcuture a LOT because i have a lot of broken forest and no power tools or hydraulics. But i do have simple machines and kung fu ;) I have 6 acres of 45 degree land and i love it. It is a challenge that erodes FAST but i am ready to take it on thanks to Matt's help. I have the high dries and low wets. I feel like i have it all and i hope you do too

Hey Matt. I'm new to farming and permaculture and I'm starting with my backyard here in fresno. Your story has been a huge inspiration for me to go out and do something for the community!
