This woman had a forensic psychologist, a private detective and two lawyers working with her to help get her out safely and she barely by the skin of her teeth made it out!!! This should be the first people think of when wanting to say "why can't you just leave?!" to women/men who are in controlling and abusive relationships!! Not everyone has the resources that Debra was fortunate enough to be able to afford. You can't just leave it's not that simple!!

Debra's biggest mistake was marrying John. How can someone be so rich, successful, confident but so stupid. I m baffled

Did she killed John? How could a lady did it on a 6 feet 2 person? I could not imagine!

Watching this made me mad because I couldn’t understand this women. Okay I understand that love is blind and she was manipulated but this man was so disrespectful to her children. Every one except her most forgiving mother on the planet hated him, her children cut her off and yet this man was still more important. That I cannot understand. But I’m glad her daughter is alive.

I think John was the real victim with his drug problems and his father he never learn a other way

I’m so glad they shared their story, the truth is it’s much easier than you think to be swindled by a handsome drug -addicted/ poor intent man. These are the types that prey on our lonely young girls and mothers: introducing them to drugs, manipulating sex, and all sorts of terrible things. There are men in this world whose only intent is to bring Women down… be aware & stand strong ladies.

So glad I didn't google this story and ruin the ending for myself, bc I did not expect Terra to be the one to kill him. I thought he was gonna be the murderer. Literally watched this show while I'm going through my own manipulation from my husband. It's small time compared to this but it's good to know how bad it can really get. Glad she shared the story so openly

All women love to love and be loved, BUT .....date a guy for a year, and KEEP that boundary, to find out what he's really like. Usually will see results in 3 months.

I feel like her being married 4 times she felt like this last one had to work and she was ignoring the red flags and this started with her mother by forgiving a murderer and putting it in her head that people can change yes some people do change but John was a born con-artist one woman was not going to change him she wanted to see the good in him and she was blinded and I done been with some broke men and being charming and waiting on you hand and foot is what they do so you can ignore the fact that they are not contributing that’s what John did she took it as he is treating her good no honey he was surviving and a man in survival mode will do anything

Terra is a hero and a survivor.

I just watched an episode of "Evil Lives Here" about this guy. I am SO angry with the mother!! It's because of her actions that John went after Terra, who could have been killed! It was only luck that the knife fell and Terra could pick it up. I have seen episode after episode of this show, and the dynamics are always the same: a woman ignores signs that a man is a sociopath. How badly do some women want a man? These women will even sacrifice their own children. Pure selfishness.

I dated someone like DJ I moved my whole life. He continued to stalk my social media for years with fake accounts. He stopped only after I started dating a cop.

Wonder that any con man, practically any jerk can get over a woman her age. She must think cz she`s in a comfortable life situation life is a game....It`s a pure miravle that Terra even survived this attack. I really can`t see how her kids are so real and down to earth with a mom like Debra.

I can get over the fact the her mother went to be by his side after the stabbing and so he wouldn't die alone she was by his side. Her daughter is the victim not her. She chose to be his wife to the end but neglected her role as a mother and that's protecting her daughter running to her aid not his shame on her. Her daughter is super woman!!!

It's crazy everyone trashing her for being with John and putting her family in danger. From the outside looking in, it's so much clearer. But when it's you, your life, your decisions and investments. When it's your heart, it's difficult to fully grasp it all. All his lies unfolded more and more but in the end she did leave him and it led to him angrily attacking. It happens all the time. To women afraid to leave. I'm glad they all survived. But it's not her fault.

I don’t have any sympathy for Debra but I feel bad for Tara because of her mom selfish behavior and her desperate desire for male companionship Tara has to live with that Tara of that day. I would’ve disowned Debra if she was my mom. Let’s be realistic here when John was in the hospital she had the print outs of woman describing what John put them through and the PI report but yet she went back to him and hired a lawyer to try to convince her kids John was safe to be around if she was willing to ignore that everything her kids were saying was true and worse when it was in her face why wouldn’t she be willing to ignore the warnings when she saw them

In case anyone needs more proof that Debra cares more about her man than her kids. In her own book she tells the story about how of her ex husbands threw her daughter Liz whose called Jacquline in the show and was banging her against it repeatedly. Liz boyfriend had a knife and he was gonna attack the husband and Debra stoped the boyfriend and one her boyfriend was OJ Simpson yes killer ex football hero OJ Simpson

She is a pathological and pathetic woman who married five times and married this obvious creep after a month? And, constantly ignored her children's findings of FACTS about him, placing him before her kids. She needs serious help.
