I used to drive myself insane with reading this type of content, I became sleepless, I fell away from reality and my duties for a week until it hit me so hard that my entire world crumbled. Imagination is a thing that needs to be kept in check and you are right, we need to guard our eyes from temptations.

not just erotica, romance in general. it's prnography for women. yes, it causes less damage than prn with all its human trafficking, but the emotional impact it has is much the same. women are less visual (oversimplified statement) than men, but more emotional. a woman who reads romance for its own sake rather as a sideplot in another story with a much grander purpose (like in Lord of the Rings) has the same warped expectations as a man who watches porn.

Its crazy that women are just reading porn and pretending like its not porn. That was an insane revelation to me as a man when i figured out what a lot of women, christian women, even, read on a regular basis, and then a lot of them judge men for falling into watching that stuff but then read it themselves!

Thank you for covering this subject! Er*tica and "spicy" literature is something I've struggled with in the recent past (reading and writing). It is truly soul and mind killing, a depravity that tempts a lot of women today. It may not seem bad at first, but like most passions can end up with the person seeking out more and falling into extremely depraved versions of said content. For example, I watched a friend go through it and she went from reading slightly spicy stuff to straight up dark romance which gets into the stalker, murder, mob, group encounter (or harem, as they are categorized)-type romances.

Interesting. I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to be wanted or desired. That is a normal human trait. Romance novels or erotica is harmless. You can be Christian and have a healthy and fun personal life with no shame. I'm pagan with inspiration from Buddhism and have a few loves, but it goes beyond the physical and I have no shame when I need that aspect from a person I am connected to and love.

Do you think you could also do a video in the near future on magic and occult/ new age etc… they’re slowly trying to normalize this as well, and it is also very difficult when we have loved ones that are entangled in these dangerous practices.

What's crazy is that there was a writer who pointed out that most of the young secular girls who read Harry Potter, then moved onto Harry Potter fan fiction, then Romance novels, and then erotica. It was pretty weird.

I'm very guilty of this, I started reading erotica books at thirteen. I lied to my mother about the content within, simplifying it as "falling in love." When in reality, it was porn written out in words. I did read true blood and fifty shades of gray when I was a teen. I struggle with lust and still cave into it during the fertile window.

I would say this is one of the biggest issues with modern dating.
Young women have very unrealistic expectations of love and what they want men to be.
The same can of course be said for young men as well that porn creates an unrealistic view of sex and women.
Lust disguises itself as love and is transactional.
Young women refusing to date men because of superficial reasons like he is short or he doesn't make 6 figure salary.
True love is patient it is kind and keeps no records of wrongs slow to anger quick to forgive and never fails.
The Devil can not create he only corrupts what God made.
Lust is the corruption of love, Pure love is not self serving but instead serving of others needs before our own.
