Longs Peak via the Keyhole: Colorado's DEADLIEST 14er

Longs Peak is Colorado's 15th highest summit at 14,259 feet. It is also the deadliest. Since 1915, there have been at least 71 reported fatalities on the mountain. Despite this, the peak remains one of the most popular 14ers in the state, attracting over 15,000 attempts each year. Less than 50% are successful. With one more weather window for the season, I traveled to Rocky Mountain National Park to try my hand at the summit, opting to ascend the infamous Keyhole Route.
