Well it should be only a consumers choice to get whatever type of vehicle for their daily driving needs, not the government. We all know that.
The thing is with greedy dealerships are the vehicles right now are way over priced even if someone wanted to get an EV and the lots of the dealerships are being stacked up with very high priced EV's which they can't sell. There are several other important daily driving issues which we all know, but right off the bat is the buying from a dealership is not a pleasant experience. I will never buy a vehicle from a dealership and play their silly games.

Car companies are part of multi national conglomerates. In reality there are like 6 car makers who own all the brands. They make other stuff and could easily stop making cars all together to make something else. Happens all the time, Bell and Howell seeing the end of Movie cameras because of the VCR, started making postal sorting equipment. How can they mandate EV's if no one makes them.

Can the electric supply grid actually supply all these millions of extra EV cars going forward? Do the world's mines actually have enough lithium, cobalt etc available to meet these targets?

Watching what happened this week with the extreme rainstorms and flooding, my question is: When you have 14. 3 million electric cars that are to be driven in the future due to the elctric vehicle mandate, how may amps/watts will they produce to fry everyone in that state when they drive through the water and the + and - terminals short out?

Came across a thought the other day. Which would you want in the event of a natural disaster where you have to travel out of the path of a hurricane for example; A regular car, where you can easily refill it, or an EV and not be sure how far you'll be able to go, and if you can recharge it?

Great report, thanks. If ev's are going to be successful, they have to be affordable and practical for the average person. Instead of an innovator for the upper end of the market we need an innovator like Henry Ford for the masses. The average miles driven each year are 13489 or 37 miles a day. For the average person, a vehicle that costs $15,000, has a range of 150 mies and charges overnight with a standard 120 volt outlet would be a dream.

Cost of ownership doesn't factor replacing a $50,000 battery every 10 years. I would have ditched my 1989 Mustang long ago if it cost me $50,000 every 10 years.

These battery cells have failed in vehicles just off the Assembly line and even before being combined into a vehicle battery. With approximately 7000 cells per EV battery and it only taking 1 of those cells to fail and start a runaway there should be more safety testing on these cells and batteries, along with built in ways to fight the resulting fires and ways to discharge the battery fully after such a event. This should be prior to any uninformed mandates by people not willing to put one of these EV’s under their bedroom.
