VK 28.01 (105mm): The Mini-T49 || World of Tanks

In this video I give a breakdown of the VK28.01 with the 105mm derp gun, which is the well-deserved reward of November 2021 for accounts over a certain age. The main thing setting this tank apart is the derp gun that used to be available on the tech tree until the 9.18 rebalance that removed all of the fun a player could have in the game while playing light tanks. Before 9.18 the AMX ELC bis used to be a speed demon, the VK 28.01 had a derp gun, the M41 Bulldog was a tier 7 tank with a 10-round clip, and the world was overall a better place. After today some of the wrongs of the past are being righted, and the VK 28.01 derp returns to World of Tanks. The VK28.01 on the tech tree is identical to this tank with regards to the armor and overall platform, except the 105mm version seems to get a slightly worse traverse and power:weight ratio. The VK 28.01 105mm is quite a peppy tank while also being rather heavy, which makes finishing other light tanks (and some medium tanks!) off by ramming a viable option. It also has surprisingly good camo values, which when combined with some of the new equipment available, allows the VK 28.01 to play the scouting role very well at tier 6, while also carrying a derp gun capable of slapping enemy light tanks for 400 damage or more, with a reload time that doesn't feel punishing, even if you miss a shot. Overall, the VK 28.01 105 feels like a boatload of fun and a definite must-kill on the enemy team, because the carry potential of the derp gun in some matchups makes it an absolute bully.
