Best Duffel Bags for Travel 2022 Updates

Awesome review! Love me some travel duffels. I have the original north face base camp in the extra small (31l) because I wanted something without an inside lining. Figured I could use it for the gym, beach, or carrying my dog’s many things and if I had to wash it with a garden hose I could do that easily.
I am curious about a travel duffel in the 40-45 liter range for upcoming trips and this was helpful to put everything side by side like that. Thank you!

I come from a long line of travelers and at an early age was taking note of luggage in the family, from steamer trunks to summiting packs.

I now have too many bags, admittedly, but it comes from many years of travel and changing styles. I've officially been a one bagger for years and it is interesting as I look upon the many bags I have that most of them are duffles.

I like the simplicity, I like packs that have alternate carrying modes. For simplicity I liked REI big haul and have both 40l and 60l. I think my biggest duffle would be the incredibly durable Patagonia at 90l (yes, admittedly I should have taken advise and not purchased such a big bag, but it has turned in handy in transporting gear for long trips).

For classy carry-on I have a Peak Design, for crazy weather I have North Face and Patagonia. I like having different options for different length and style of travel and duffles seem to fit that best.

Which do you prefer between the Osprey Daylite Duffel 30L band the Osprey Arcane Duffel Pack 30L? Also, would either be able to fit under a plane seat, personal item style? Great update video!

Love the content! Just checking, was the second half video ever posted? I couldn’t find it on your channel and I’m very interested to see how the northface voyager looks when packed considering the thinner material. I was a little worried it may mot have a enough rigidity and cause the bag to sag when wearing like a backpack. Thanks again for doing these videos!

Can you please check the ultralight market? I know there is something. All these bags are too heavy. I travel with an Arcteryx, it's very light but the design is terrible because it's symmetric. Still the lightest I have found.

Could you make a review of Salomon Outlife Duffel?

I had the osprey. I liked it until I saw Forclaz, decathlon's duffle bag: 40l that expands to 60. I bought it and it replaced the osprey from that day on.
I don't stuff it too much and then just store my personal item (backpack) inside it in the 60L mode when moving around.

There are other great duffles: Fjällräven Splitpack, Eagle Creek, REI, Mammut and TNF basecamp (could be the best duffle ever made)

Thanks for this excellent review! Narrowed down to Voyager 42 vs Chasm 40 vs Black Hole 40. Have you done any capacity comparisons between them? Either w clothes or peanuts? Or do they all seem basically same?

I just bought the black hole 70l for 180€ but i am not sure if i keep it. It is really beautiful and super big storage- feels more like 90l+ . Just not sure because its super expensive and north face duffel L with 95l goes for just 105€ ... anyone can help me out here? or is there a 3rd one that you recommend.

Laptop pocket in voyager it's useless.. You can't fit absolutely a 15.6 laptop

Is it voyager 32l?? I bought 42l theres no water bottle pocket.

You only need 2, leather for a stylish carry on a plane or weekend and a Filson type of material either thin cloth or heavy cloth for outdoor and camping trips.
