I have never used any Android recovery though I updated my phone with ZIP two times.

First one : OPPO A57 = Android 6 to 6. It just appeared in the File Manager. No need to open TWRP.

Second one : Redmi 9 Prime = Android 11 to 12. I did it from Settings. Choose update package.

Love TWRP! Wish we could hack our phones again with Xposed modules!

idk if it's a fun fact but TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) is the 1st custom recovery to involve touch controls. Which is far better instead of mapping navigation to hardware buttons.

Clorkworkmod recovery is truly iconic. The first ever recovery to modify system with whatever you like. Too bad it died shortly after TWRP appeared. But TWRP is still the best
