People talking about Chongyun for DPS potential when his forte is to provide Cryo Infusion to the whole team. his burst is great yeah, but the main value is to use the infusions to do all those thermo-electrical reactions all at once with a proper national team full of melees.

I feel like with all the gymnastics needed to place characters when Zajef and Juice had disagreeing opinons, it would've been easier to just make a tier list and focus on discussing where you disagree with them.

Cryo kinda fell when hoyo realized freeze is too broken. I remember back then that whenever abyss content is freezable, ayaka would rip it to pieces. Then they added bosses on both sides and enemies that are either unfreezable, has low freeze time duration or has sky high cryo res.

I was literally using my Eula yesterday. I miss when she was smacking enemies with 25k NAs in Inazuma 😔 Now everything has stupid physical resistance in overworld. I got Raiden last year but I've been using her in overload with Chevy. I guess I'll try to see what to do with artifacts so I can try Eula. I did keep my Bennet c5 for her, after all :D

My thing about Wriothesley vs Ayaka is that Wriothesley at his "base" wants a lot more investment of primogems. Not only the c1 constellation but his sig weapon has a big difference in damage even compared to other 5 star weapons. Ayaka can still have a solid bump from using many other 5 star swords.
Not to mention that the comparison they made of Ayaka freeze vs Wriothesley melt. If you're comparing a vape character vs a melt one, at least both of them have a multiplier reaction.

I have Wriothesley 3 crowned, so I'm not a hater, but I definitely wouldn't recommend him to most people because he's a huge investment. I'm still torn on whether I should go for his c1 or give up and consider him a trophy character.

In my opinion physical needs a debuffer kinda like xilonen but only a cryo character that can lower physical resistances and heal not a buffer but for a separate character if its a buffer that buffer needs to be an enabler (Sub DPS If Possible) of the reaction so either a cryo centric battery like fischl or a fischl with buffing capabilities for physical as another electro sub DPS

Freeze needs an overhaul on how it affects everything in the game to be more effective and popular again otherwise it will continue to stay one of the worst reactions in the game due to how limited it can be for all content overall

What I hope for in the future is for double electro (Sub DPS) comps for physical carries to become a thing like how double hydro is for pyro units but maybe in snezhnaya...

Another thought that crossed my mind is a sub DPS that does purely physical DMG would be cool tho

As a Freminet player I really can't see what Eula has overall over him, plus he makes use of Mika C6 extremely well with Furina and Fischl as his teammates. Kinda sad he gets glazed over here as usual.

One thing i love about eula that isnt usually brought up is her damage profile in 2 wave/multi wave content. Killing a wave then immediate burst killing 2nd wave is always satisfying

We could get an electro off fielder that does some electro to keep up superconduct, a cryo damage amplifier that work also as a battey, and a way to free us from bennet.

every element and reactions are already strong and OP but of course hoyo always released specialized support for those reaction and elements to make them more more stronger.

Eula/physical already weak since begining and she has low % dmg multiplier compared to recent non reaction hypercarry but hoyo almost never released physical specialized support (only mika released but we know he sucks not even close to level of faruzan for Anemo, and his buff uptime is not really comfortable for eula burst rotation and he dont fix eula huge problems that is energy and cryo app for cryo crit resonance thats why i prefer run rosaria). so we can say that hoyo intentionaly ignore physical and eula. if hoyo care they should release 3 characters tailored for eula/physical. irony today we can see eula long burst collecting stack rotation dmg is equal to 1 Mualani NA Vape 😢

honestly, I think you're right. this is a much more balanced take imo, especially since both zajeff and juice probably don't play any of cryo carries all that much. I also appreciate how you give some love to the unpopular characters -- like chongyun especially. I didn't know he could do 100k per burst spirit blade. he was my first main but I want to build him properly now (I'm on c4). also going to unbench ayaka. also I appreciate how courteous you always are even when disagreeing.

If we had generic supports that were cryo and electro and were as good as Bennett, Xilonen, Furina, Kazuha, etc., Eula might actually be alright. Huge problem right now is that she wants a lot of specific things in her teams (tons of cryo energy, superconduct, some defensive utility, the usual hypercarry buffs) and there aren't a lot of units that provide those things that are also very good.

Putting eula next to ayaka is crazy. Don't disrespect ayaka like that

I mained Eula for close to 2 years upon her initial release back in 1.5/6 and 36 star cleared every abyss from 2.1 all the way to 3.5 on mobile. It is possible. That said I have to acknowledge that it would have been a lot easier if I had just used national.

I can't say I'm speaking for a general populace but I can at least explain what I don't like about Ayaka, mine is c0 with a 4 star sword, I don't have shenhe so my most commonly used team for her is rosaria kokomi kazuha. My main problem with her is she just feels inconsistent and doesn't have a lot of good match ups like content with multiwave enemies that spawn far away from each other were very common in 4.X and 3.X updates.

She also feels extremely bad when she comes just short of one rotating an enemy based on my investment level which usually results in me having to decide between setting up a second rotation to burst with and massively overkill an enemy leaving me with not enough ER for the next chamber/wave or having to use my normal attacks to slowly whittle away at the enemy.

I know if you're speedrunning/minmaxxing your investment you're not gonna necessarily have the same problems as me but if I'm setting up a tier list for which units are better for general use I'd imagine a skill based dps with a consistent output and more generally favorable match ups like Rizzley would wind up on a higher spot than Ayaka or Eula for me (Although not sure how I'd compare him to ganyu)

Rizzley will never be better than Ayaka - especially at C0

The problem of freminet is he (like eula) is also a DPS who requires and rewards great amount of investment, but as far as i know there are -2 dedicated freminet mains out there. Overall he is surprisingly one of the good 4* dps's out there

Eula has several problems even if we put her perfect party problems aside, enemies spawning too far, enemies teleporting or dashing away or flying/burrowing, loads of physical resistance from enemies. She suffers from this more than every other characters just because how her burst works. Her problems with energy, set, buffer, off field damage might get fixed by some character in future but the enemy problems will stay and keep her away from ever being a great hypercarry at c0

So for u Eula is underrated but Xilonen is overrated 😏

What's Eula's recommended best team without Bennett? (unfortunately C6'd). Is it a large DPS loss with C6? It still feels like it's a lot more comfy tanking wise due to Bennett's healing, even Layla's shield or Diona healing can feel a little less comfy sometimes (compared to when my Bennett wasn't c6)

I really like Chongyun's burst design and wish there were more characters like this. you swap in press button and see huge numbers. not every character needs to have a 14 second pyronado for off field app. Also the reason why I puled Zhongli constellations, I swap in and a big meteor hits for now absurd damage with Xilonen C2.

No one is under estimating Eula. She feels the worst to play of all the available limited DPS claymore users. I got her on her only rerun still to this day no full clear with her. Shes just awful even compared to Diluc. Ganyu, Ayaka and Shenhe are definitely underrated now. Xilonen helped them out. Mono cryo is never talked about now. Other than the Fontaine era i clear most abysses with that team.

Chungyun as a burst support quip-swap character is really great imo.

I would love to see an entire video dedicated to Eula misconceptions and how to actually use her. I love her caracter and really wanna pull for her, but everyone keeps saying that she's trash and cannot clear abyss without wale investment 😢

Making another comment, I think you kinda heavily underestimate how much effort goes into making a Eula team good. The Eula team you showed by the billibili guy, is not the reality of 90% of players. It was a high skilled high invstment clear sure but that is how it is. I agree there is a lot of misinformation when characters are hard to play and therefore misunderstood (Xiao and Lyney main here fighting the fight for years) but in the case of Eula it is just not worth it man. The "meta" speedrun teams rely on one singular crit to function, and it is just not feasible both from an emotional frustration point and the actual investment you need to execute this. People will always prefer ease of access. I don't disagree that Eula on paper has decent damage but you actually need to get to the investment threshold there, which most people don't, you know? And zajef sees it similarily too. I am also sure he knows Mika is "bad" for her.
People saying Ayaka has bad damage though is weird, but from a pure all f2p items and teammates perspective, maybe lacking kazuha too, she def feels a lot worse in good setups than she did back then or even pre fontaine. Ayaka perception is cursed by "the higher you are the lower you can fall". She was extremely meta and so easy to use, that flipped completely so she is considered bad now because why do I gotta try hard.

It's been nearly 4 years since Eula released and she has always been catching constant strays from members of the community who overvalue their own opinions and takes. The worst offenders were always parts of the KQM community who are pretty much a walmart version of eastern TCers. Eula has everything going against her sadly from sets, weapons to teammates.

All respect to you, Jamie. You're amazing because you do not confidently state insane wrong takes like Zajef or Juice do in these clips, instead you actually took the time to explain the situation of these units. (actually made me wanna revisit Chongyun too)

I was a Eula main for a long time but I've given up on Eula ever receiving proper care from Hoyo, her options are just completely messed up.
Firstly: Her signature, the PF set, and constellations do not help her biggest issues which are energy and crit rate. It's very hard to build a consistent Eula because you really want to crit but your burst also sucks to charge because hoyo screwed up the funneling. Even after a lot of time and resin wasted in her domain I still lack both the energy and crit rate, and the crafting option in natlan also screwed me over, so i can't do much. While modern carries get sets that give them 36% or 40% crit rate, crit weapons and ascensions Eula only has Phys% stats on most of her stuff, the only crit she has is a cdmg ascension. It's also scummy that these new sets place arbitrary limitations on proccing the 4p effect but they take no consideration to activate and are always active, whereas the PF set takes longer to activate the 4p of for far less benefit. (25% extra phys and some attack% versus 40% crit rate from obsidian lol)
Secondly: Even if you get a good build with reliable crit and ER, all her teammates are bad. Mika is terrible because you do not want attack speed; he is a bad battery and his buffs are lackluster even at c6, Bennett is terrible because he locks you into a circle and you can't unlock c6; he is also Pyro which is unhelpful. Furina needs a healer to work but partywide healers are not really good in Eula teams because none of them provide physical related buffs and she is neither cryo nor electro (duh), and we don't have a good 5* cryo battery or off field physical dps so all the strain falls on Eula to do damage in the team. It feels as if she needs 6 teammates because we do not have the role for phys that EVERY OTHER carry has in the game: someone who can do at least 2 roles in one well enough. (heal+buff, off-field+buff, battery+buff, battery+off-field or any combination like this that is an actual good unit)
The closest good teammate is Raiden, I honestly like how she works but the electro app and burst damage bonus are not enough and the Tenacity set buff is very small compared to the Natlan set that gives 40% elemental damage lmao.

I'm not a game dev but imho what Eula needed for a long time was a dedicated cryo-phys off fielder that can complement and buff her, then a Mika who doesn't suck (maybe his c6 should give CRate instead to make eula easier to build), and an electro that is consistent and does something for superconduct maybe or gives a higher buff than raiden.
The worst offender is still her signature and set imho, they do not make it easier to build her at all and I hate that. C2 and C4 also do nothing pretty much. (not that i'm advocating for cons because i'm only a welkin guy, i did not pull for eula cons)

This can show even if characters are not considered strong by the community, it's possible if you are dedicated to the character & practice you can get unbelievable performance. Pull who you like and learn them!
Also be nice to the other creators, we just did this on stream for fun. Its ok to have different opinions since we all play differently
