Who is the real “Pro” this year?

I've said it once and I'll say it again. I find the AcePro to be just too big and heavy for head/helmet-mounted use.

As mountain biker, and as an Insta360 owner, i'll probably buy the Action 5 pro next. Insta360's stabilization is weird and gives me headaches.

Let's be honest, the video is crap out of both. The image is soft regardless how saturated the colors look.

Loved the video! I totally agree on the DJI mount, I always find it more fiddly than it should be!

The physical size of the Osmo Action is why I decided to buy one in the first place. The Action 3 I had was only a bit wider than my Go Pro Hero Black 7, which I still have and works great! All the other 'action' cameras are sized like bricks these days.

I sold the Action 3 the other week and was going to get the Action 5 Pro but some reviews about the video quality and differences between the 5 and the 4 persuaded me to buy an Osmo Action 4. Got it cheaper than the latest DJI discounts as it's an Amazon return. Good thing is I can return it no questions asked if I don't like it! 😁

I usualy use action cams (goPro for now) to film my rock shows. So, I would like to know how it handle really high volume since the cam can be attatch to a drum set, a guitar or to a microphone stand. I know that would be better to record the audio with a different device... but it what I have for now. We post those videos in our channel (@losApostolesDeBaco). For every show I take a Canon T6s, insta360 x3, gopro 3 (busted) and my phone (samsung s21).

Love your videos, but I have to disagree. The Ace Pro 2 is the winner IMO. The clarity zoom is something I used all the time on my original Ace Pro, so I'm super happy to see switching to it is much faster now! The flip up screen is fantastic, for low angle shots too. Overall, it's just a fun camera to use! I've owned GoPros from version 2-10, and DJI's Actions 1 and 4. I liked using my Ace Pro so much more. I never shoot 10 bit, so I couldn't care less about that, and I bet a lot of people who say they care end up shooting in auto most of the time anyways. I've never had issues with 8 bit auto footage not being colour correctable enough to look good in my productions. What needs to be tested is 8 bit auto vs 10 bit log footage being colour corrected to see the differences. I bet outside of rare, very difficult lighting situations, the differences would be negligible.

Solid review Becca! Thank you! Just got the A5 and ordered an Ace 2 to compare. I really only need this cam for one use case so I can wait to test. I know the A5 will have way better battery performance but it that 2X clarity zoom for my use case will be huge! One or the other will be the difference maker. Thanks again.

It would be best if you showed us what you can do with 10-bit colors on an action cam compared to using 8-bit colors. can you show us how to match footage in 8 vs 10 bit is different? That seems to be a big factor in your decision yet is explained as 10bit > 8K = DJI win

The magnetic mounts can only be attached in one direction. This is because magnets have defined positive and negative poles: when the magnet inside the camera frame connects with the mount's magnet, there is only one way to align the opposite poles.
