GREAT video! I'd like to add a layer of HDPE to the stock skid plate and see how long I can make it last, bouncing off rocks.
ОтветитьWould you go for the new 450?
I'm looking at it and the 411. The biggest selling point for me, they relocated the air filter to the highest point. The 411 is a few grand cheaper, and looks better imo.
"It comes in paints?!? I'm getting one." - Pippin
ОтветитьThey are on a major sale right now end of model. Can get the Scram for 3,000 + fees 🤯
ОтветитьI get all the things you said about the stuff you bring along. Great!. I often ramble into areas that have no cell phone coverage and there is very little traffic. If you break down, you're hooped!
ОтветитьGreat setup - sort of thing that you would expect to see going on a world tour. It's like the AK of the adventure bike world.
ОтветитьI'm so sad they are axing this version for the new 450.
ОтветитьI own a Honda Africa Twin and a KTM 150 dirtbike. I recently aquired a 2021 Himalayan. There's something odd about the steering. At really low speeds, the steering gets really stiff. At higher speeds you can't even notice but once you stop or slow turn you feel it. It's like the tires are grabbing on to the street. At first I thought air pressure but it was 30 psi. Then I looked closer at the tire wear. They have 5400 miles but there is still very much knobbies on it. One thing to note.....the knobs are not evenly worn. Some stick out more than others. Have you noticed anything like this? Is this tire wear likey the issue? What do you think?
ОтветитьThanks for your review, it was fun to watch. I'm picking one up, hopefully this month.
ОтветитьThank you for that. Great review
ОтветитьMy youngest son and his partner rode 15,000 miles over four months around Europe last year. Thirty five countries from Gibraltar to Finland and a lot of places in-between, much of it off-road. They did their own servicing and tyre changes en route. Both bikes are still in daily use.Epic.
Just bought a low mileage, well-sorted 411 myself, after riding my son's Himmy to the Overland event in Oxfordshire this year. The Himmy is a future classic. Love and peace.
Hi! What sprocket did you changed on the bike? Front or back? And of how many teeth?
ОтветитьGreat vid. Any probs with gear and rear brake levers when it gets dropped? I was pondering a big engine guard to protect them as well
ОтветитьGreat video. What part of the country are you located? I love these trails.
ОтветитьAmazing video. Have you seen the new itchy boots videos? she got to test ride the new himalayan preproduction bike in ladakh India.
ОтветитьWhat seat are you running?
ОтветитьYou have good commo gear and the right attitude for riding a fun slow bike
ОтветитьWhat an amazing vid. One of the few that didn’t bitch endlessly about “highway speed”, that’s so boring and out place in my book for a bike like this.
I loved the audio, made me feel I was riding out there with you guys.
Many people feel that bike falls short in every department but I have ridden way worse bikes and managed to have a blast so…
What up with the orange spokes? Aftermarket wheels? I'm considering aluminum to lighten it a bit.
ОтветитьIs Pine Green a decent color? just asking because I can get a 1k off that versus Matt black or other colors. thanks!
Ответитьas a newbie to the himalayan please could you run through your kit list especially tools for repair and maintenance? what do you HAVE to take on the road. Thanks in advance, perfect video, mix of info and idiocy ;) 😂
ОтветитьWhat cruise control device are you using man? I need one for my himi. GREAT VIDEO!
ОтветитьWhat fell off your helmet when you hit that branch? Lol
Ответитьwhat a great review, and I love your riding.
I have a Kawasaki Super Sherpa, but after two big falls I want to sell that bike and either buy a scrambler to do almost only touring (eg CL500) or just learn to ride offroad and not exceed my limits, which is hard as I am loosing 70 IQ while on top of a bike lol.
The only thing that concerns me is how slow it is with only 24HP oh and that Scram411. I dont know which to choose
Mine is a hate love relationship with my Himmy. Fun to ride, until the engine cuts out at low rpm's. I have dropped the bike several times from just the engine cutting out at the most inconvenient times, which happens constantly. Its favorite places to cut out are traversing muddy roads and heavy city traffic. My speedometer is literally held together with polymer glue. The internal screws started rattling around at about 1500km. Opened the case and found the cheap plastic board mounts crumbling, so I glued everything back together with a vibration proof polymer. My front directional vibrated apart so it got glued as well. The front and rear seats, are the most uncomfortable that I have ever had on a bike. I have a 32" inseam and presently just use a small 1" thick pad to keep me high enough so my knees do not hit the tank bars. My wife who is small finds her seat painful as well, after only a 20 minute ride. At 9,000km I had to replace the damaged steering bearings. The heavy bike apparently does not like my rough roads here in the South American Andes. But it is cheap to run at 85mpg and it is a fun ride as well as long as you don't have to get there fast. I am thinking of picking up a super Meteor for the highway, I can have two RE bikes for the price of one Jap bike, and polymer glue is cheap...
ОтветитьGreat video. I am waiting for the 450cc one.
ОтветитьFirst Excellent Video Second Glade to hear about your Himalayan I can tell you have excellent modifications not to mention you reassured me of my purchase I purchased last year the Scram 411 and coming up on a year of my Royal Enfield in August same frame and engine (BS6) Lastly nothing but Fun and Bliss as well Enjoy Fellow Himalayan Rider Enjoy Deuces✌🏼
ОтветитьHiya, thanks great vid. What did you do to your spokes, is that paint or did you replace them? mine are getting a bit corroded.
ОтветитьIm now at 28000km whatever that is in miles and i did the TET in Albania Montenegro and Serbia with it. I havend done any offroad before And my bike is stock
Except Mitas Tires
Now that im more comfortable offroad i feel like im gonna upgrade a bit and i feel like 1500€ to make this amazing bike even better is totaly worth it
Thanks for the video! Could you do one on your choice of luggage for it?
Ответить10 thousand miles on my himmy.( Mr burns) not one problem. Bloody love it.❤
ОтветитьIt would have been nice to hear about it's on road abilities too. Thanks man. Fun vid
ОтветитьThanks for the great video and rundown mate, going to pick one of these up as soon as I can!
ОтветитьBest off road on Himalayan ❤I ever seen ❤
ОтветитьWhich year himalayan?
ОтветитьGreat review...I’m closing in on 30k km and I still love it. I pretty much do everything with it.
ОтветитьWe used have (KISS) written on the boat I sailed on. Keep it simple stupid 👍😂
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks. My Himalayan now has 25,000 miles on it and runs fine still. Just added Bridgestone AX41 tyres this week, will be taking them off-road as soon as possible. I live about 2 miles from Hitchcocks and about 8 miles from Redditch, the ancestral home of RE.
ОтветитьReally enjoyed. Kinda perfect customer, for pretty much the perfect bike. If you need something faster to travel in a different manner, you're not doing yourself any favors IMHO. I traded mine (after 10,600 miles in a year) for an INT650 (which I LOVE!) to deal with my crappy city life and really miss it. I'd love to relocate to an area where I, the elements, and a Himalayan are a perfect match. Yes, very manageable for 5'6"ish folk, and will carry anything......a bicycle, inflatable kayak, exquisite lawn art :)
ОтветитьSuper annoying audio
ОтветитьIf I wasn’t 6’3” the Himalayan was in my top 3 bikes I wanted to purchase last year as my first bike. Amazing bike and jealous of you shorter riders who can ride it comfortably. However it’s just too short and uncomfortable for us trolls.
ОтветитьYou have reignited my interest in Himalayan as my first bike. Nice spoke wheels. Where did you order them? Also any changes to the handle bar?
Ответитьluv this set up talking about a bike I'm interested in
ОтветитьI had a huge issue with their customer service. I waited 3 months to get a replacement part.
ОтветитьI love all the orange gear it really makes it your own style! Looking for pink gear for my himalayan!
ОтветитьThis channel is dope! 🫡
ОтветитьMan this was an amazing watch. Really love your content, new sub right here dude! Watching you I now can't wait to pick mine up tomorrow and get some adventures under way. Thanks for all the info, humour and filming 10/10
ОтветитьThanks! Very helpful. I'm on the fence of buying Himmy or the CRF300 Rally, but with the Rally being pretty much unavailable on the used market in the UK as well as it's higher price point, I was swaying towards the Himmy, but really afraid of reliability issues as well as the lack of power. Can't believe you've done 20k on it and still loving it!
Regarding the brakes, how much did those bybre cost you? I suppose you added them yourself? Did you do any suspension upgrades?
Many Thanks!
People like its becuase it's cheap. Can you really compare it with a African twin or other ADV's in pure performance ?? Nahh
Ответить
