Um I hope people realize allowing someone to run a sever for peer to peer file sharing . I this system and host vulnerable to hacking attacks

The frontend looks nice and like something very useful for inhouse video hosting. Then I took a look at the installation process and got lost. I have no idea of linux, no machine running it and all this commandline stuff without any explaining why I have to stupidly type these lines in and what the computer should do in response for installing several components probably needed (where should I know) made me running away.😥

i actualy try do this my way but ended stuck in he problem domain name is way i know to put online he server witch is bihind the paywall. witch is bad also for hosting over type of server in genaral on non commercial use

Joe average isn't likely to adopt it, the bulk of consumers are extremely sensitive to minor changes in ease of use and availiblilty(default install)

How do you find them though? I tried their search engines, and typed in broad categories for the genres I watch on YT, and it finds nothing. Or it finds something not related but about computers.

I might not be your target audience, but would love to understand peertube from a viewer perspective? I am not ready to run a server at this point, but how do I subscribe without that? Do I have to sign up for new accounts for every single server? Just bookmark pages in firefox to remember where they are because the search engine only finds something anout every 4th search for me?

This is awesome. I watch most of the real informative stuff on Rumble and Bitchute etc....but I love the idea of PerrTube. Will definitely look into it more.

This is no good if you need to pay for hosting. You need to be able to run a server on your own device over your home wifi and or multiple devices

It sucks majority of the instance doesn't allows registration. 99% of those who allows it, need to approve your request.

This looks like the video sharing counterpart of Mastodon. I like the idea of Peertube, but having to set up with own cloud server can be quite intimidating.

You tube is full of ads and A.I shit.
Its seriously annoying.Something better needs to be created.
