I’ve been a maximalist for about 60 years and I can hardly believe that so many young folks are living with joy in the things they bring home. FINALLY! I’ve always heard condescending jokes and shaming for what others see as clutter.

Maximalism - This is a great educational video. Maximalism. "I CAN, NOT SHOULD I". MORE IS GOOD. JOY WILL COME FROM OUTSIDE OF ME. POSESSION IS KING. MATERIRAL WEALTH DEFINES ME AND IS GOOD. I'M UNABLE TO APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF JUST A FEW OBJECTS IN A ROOM. TO CONSUME IS GOOD. I WILL SPEND MY LIFE WORKING MUCH HARDER AND LONGER FOR THINGS I DON'T NEED. PLANET EARTH HAS ENDLESS RESOURCES. LET OUR CHILDREN WILL PICK UP THE BILL ON MAXIMALISM.... Cool Interior Design Style with some drawbacks !!

I'm a " maximimilst " by nature, but it's not a hodge podge of " stuff" , and I believe when it's done well, it looks and feels good. A lot of the examples were so busy and so much stuff ,there's no place for the eye to rest. ....there is a way to show one's personality, and have your home " say something about who you are " without overcrowding and feeling like you cannot even relax in such a busy looking space. Just MHO.

Best summary on maximalism i have ever seen

I tried minimalist design style for over 10 year and could bare nothing with colour. Lately I can't stand minimalist design and have gone with the complete opposite. Don't get me wrong living the minimalist life has many mental health benefits. Now I have started living with colour and I feel more at peace with myself. The transition is not an easy one but I like how it makes me feel when I see different colours play out in my home. Great video 👍

Ania I just found you and you are like a breath of fresh air. I hated that minimalist look - my house looked like nobody lived there but I was smart and I didn't throw any of the things I loved out - they are all in the basement in bins so now I am going to take everything out of the bins and put them out so I can see all the beautiful things I have. You can really tell you enjoy this design style :) It's how I discovered your channel hahaha! Love that you've featured it more than a few times. Curated design with an intentional color palate and lots of layering of textures and pattern. It can look breathtakingly beautiful if done well by someone who is a true artist. It's a style you cant create in a week, it can take years of collecting just the right things.

I thought I was a maximus until I watched this video. I guess I am not. This is too much even for me. I do love my things and hate bare walls and bare tables.
