I played classic on a 2017 4K iMac with 7th gen i5, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a Radeon Pro 555 2GB just for the lulz.
It was like 20fps and I really don’t know why. Maybe Mac-Version is shit

8x MSAA is overkill, turn that down to even 4x and you should gain at least 20-40fps average

i’m playing classic on my work computer ( macbook air) no lag at all, perfect fps, and i got a big screen and keyboard plugged into it. Not sure how healthy it is for the computer tho, but the fan rarely gets that warm. Thoughts?

DAMN i did not expect to see the old PC case i had, my friends built me a PC with that case (has a GTX 1060 3G) Not a crazy one but its decent. moved all my PC parts into a NZXT H510 love it. was cool seeing this case (fun tip you can stick a bunch of RGB strips in the front for a cool lil light show through the grey front panel) :) great video

I actually took my stupid over powered gaming pc and dropped all the settings to low and limited my FPS to 30...just for the nostalgia

I remember playing on my parents old computer. Holy shit looking back I have no idea how I even played. If I was outside ANYWHERE I got a max of like maybe 3-10 FPS. I just remember seeing like 3 frames of my characters running animation. It looked very similar to when you put the graphics to 10 and showed us the slideshow, but on low graphics. If I was inside it was alot smoother, maybe like 10-15 FPS. That thing was a piece of shit. Def feels good having a laptop that can run modern day WoW with max graphics at very pleasurable frame rate after dealing with that thing my whole childhood.

I used to play on a single core first gen Athlon processor with intergrated xpress 200 graphics. Fun moving pictures.

Pretty sure even a 50dollar PC can run Classic wow just fine lol.
I got a shitty as laptop and runs it with no problem at all.

I use a Thinkpad T540P to play on the go. Its pretty solid too. That could be an option for those in a tight budget that also need a laptop for school.

How did the client alow you to load the game If you didn't meet the minimum GPU requirement? Shit tells me it's not supported and doesn't let me load

I have a Burning Crusade WoW Battle Chest filled, I used the code for the game recently (didnt give me TBC bcus its built in but it gave me Legion for 1 month), manuals and everything.

I played for years on a Dell vostro with a nvidia geforce 330 with no problems. I tried it with classic WOW and it shuts the computer down immediately. I picked up a Thinkpad R 400 for free and FPS is around 0.5 at lowest settings. The thinkpad would have been a power gaming computer when Vanilla WOW came out. Some thinkpads have a dock that allows installation of peripheral video card, but not mine. You can use a thunderbolt to do the same thing, but the old thinkpad wont support it. Maybe you can show Thunderbolts upgrading graphic cards on laptops and what this does for WOW classic.

I miss the days when system requirements for basically every single game on the shelf in the PC section was a Pentium III at 800Mhz with a GeForce 2. That seemed to be basically every single game through, say, 2007.

After following this video I finally have a computer that can run something other than TF2, though at this point i'm probably gonna use it to run TF2 with better graphics haha.

take that pc and toss in a modern gpu like the cheapest newest one with passive cooler and you gonna get 200fps

So basically how I feel about wow is, I love it, high settings or not, I can legit enjoy this game on any PC lol. Brand new gaming PC, or one of those mehhh PCs from a pawn shop... It'll run wow classic :) awesome.

I feel like the "Geforce2 Class or Above" Min-Rec was a bit of a slippery one. An MX4 was just a GeForce256, compared that to the Recommended spec of "Geforce FX5700". Was quite a jump in performance. In the time span of Vanilla WoW its crazy to think that it went from older gpu's like that all the way to the doorstep of the ati 4850 and nvidia 8800gtx around time of Burning Crusade. I'm putting together a retro build to play on some classic servers running the og software, I was 18 at the time the game launched, so this project, along with classic has been a great time for me reliving all the memories.
