This Saturdays project will be to take down the tree and the decor - I will be putting back all the purple (my favorite color our ceiling is purple in the family room) so on my white entertainment center and bookcases there is a LOT of purple accents - I store it all in the entertainment center itself so its easy to access and works well with the next season - spring :) glenda

You & your family have a Happy & a Healthy New Year! I still have mine up. I will take it down soon. I have aways left it up because my Birthday is on the 30th so my parents aways had couple extra presents for me under the tree for my Birthday! We got just a couple days ago, my husband got me a new walker my old one wasn't working good & he tried & tried to fix it but just didn't work. My new one is a upwalker so I can stand up straighter, my husband was worried I was bending over so much. So this one I think will help that. Anyway I love it! I just don't like taking all the decorations down. I like the lights I think. I got some led lights for the mantle so I think I'll keep those out & put the rest away. We drink coffee ☕️ so we don't have a coffee ☕️or cocoa bar. We don't have much room. Kind of like your butler's room just a gally kitchen. It's nice for us. I know after cleaning it all up, it does feel better. 😏 I don't have a lot of decor it'll be just our normal things. I did make 2 gnomes one for a friend & one to keep! You could keep the top part of your trees d cement it in a wooded planter to use outside your front door with just lights on x

But I think the boys are more than old enough to move their toys every time they use them do the pots and pick up cushions and blankets my children didn’t leave the room without moving what was theirs as they then appreciate their property your space and pride in the home x

You could use the blower from top to bottom to clear the dust and blow it out the door into the dessert x

Hi Amanda I get the same way. I love the holidays. But once there over I just want to take the decorations down and reset. I just need to refresh, relax and get away from the chaos of it all.

I would go with white on the desk.

I haven't taken down all my Christmas yet. It's coming down a little at a time. Just so crazy right on top of working.

Happy New Year, I try to take Christmas decorations down the first few weeks of January.. live the leaf blower idea!!

I take my Christmas decorations down either Christmas evening or the day after. It helps me destress after all the craziness. Though I am married, my husband does not like Christmas and doesn't participate other than to pay for gifts.
I don't like the idea of the leaf blower, I feel like it would take a while for everything to settle back down. Maybe get a wide push broom or something instead.
And the desk area, I would do white or maybe grey..

I take Christmas down the day after or the 27th at the latest. I like to start the New Year off fresh. I don’t “decorate” again until Valentine’s Day. Just keeping it simple with every day decor.

Also, I got black cabinets as well, for the built in desk area. Maybe a stained top for the desk itself. But in a natural color.

I think you should leave the upper cabinets the color they are, paint the desk and lowers that dark color on the wall, then run vertical white ship lap up the wall behind it.

Painting the desk area a dark colour was my immediate reaction, I think using the same black you used on the wall in the living area would look fantastic! White is lovely but gets mucky and marked very easily and quickly. If you wanted to break it up a bit, a butcher block (either stain or paint effect of what you have, or replaced altogether) for the desktop would be very effective, but personally I think painting the whole thing the same colour, including the wall where it shows behind would be the best. Using a good polyurethane topcoat should help to keep it more protected and easier to clean. Looking forward to the new renovations coming up!

I have this thing where I have to have the Christmas stuff all put away and the house all cleaned on December 31. Go into the New Year fresh and clean.

I took my holiday decor down on the 27th! And did a full reset then. As much as I love Christmas, it felt so good reclaiming my space!

My big goal is to majority downsize our house. My husband and I have already got rid of 4 boxes and have like 3 more started. We signed papers to take over his family farm so it's time to keep our house an easy clean while focusing on the other major stuff

Hii!! I find sooo soothing night time reset

I have finally caught up to 2023!! I am home sick and able to binge watch more motivating videos to get my mind set right to tackle areas around my home to declutter since after the electrical work has been complete. It is hard at times with caregiving, day to day meals, and regular chores on top of decluttering and working from and inside the home, seems to be so tedious to reach my goals in just being focused on loving our apartment and 3 family house and getting to home making.
