Hey Bradley, any update on the deadline for this challenge yet? The doc says 18th but that seems a bit soon.
ОтветитьPrepare your inbox, I have the perfectly meme-ful idea
ОтветитьHey Bradley you should do a very light weight Laythe SSTO
ОтветитьThis is why there needs to be a kerbal racing DLC
ОтветитьWhat are the coords for the river?
ОтветитьThe legend of kerbal uploaded again
ОтветитьOne week...is not 18th. Please specify?
I don't have video capture software on my PC, could you add names of some easy to install and use software for this? Otherwise I'll record it with my phone and you'll love the potato quality!
What mod gives you those biome readouts? I play stock as a rule where I can help it.
ОтветитьSeparate thought: I know it's a long one and probably not very conducive to a challenge, but what are/were your thoughts on the large river system north of KSC-2? I've enjoyed that place several times for a variety of travel forms.
ОтветитьWhy is it that Kerbals seem to build their cities on the sides of cliffs?
ОтветитьThese cliffs are really colorful. Is that a mod?
Ответитьroll and pull up! it looks so cheesy pulling negative g's
ОтветитьI'd like to do it, but im used to playing with G forces enabled at 0.1 in game. Pulling 15+ G's for 10 seconds straight feels cheaty. Flying while trying to not pull more than 4- 5 g's feels 'realistic'.
Ответитьmuch love. i enjoyed this mate.
Ответитьooh cool, i wanna give it a shot
ОтветитьLooking for input on how long you folks need to complete this challenge
ОтветитьWich visual enhancements do you use?
ОтветитьNow race down the dres canyon!
ОтветитьMr. BW, I would like to submit an idea. Your challenge seems to be very much about speed and I'm afraid this idea somewhat contravenes that, but my idea is to make each enclosed body of water along the route be its own destination. I've dubbed this the "Puddle Hopper" class. The prime objective is to land an aircraft in each body of water, come to a full stop, then continue, and to fly across the finish line in the shortest overall time. Variations on this design might include:
# your Extreme Yachting class
# changing crew at each stop
# picking up swimmers at each stop and delivering them to a floating party past the finish line
# swapping to an entirely new craft at each stop
# flying with an absolute pittance of fuel and obligatorily refueling at each stop
# picking up deadweight cargo at each stop to impair the craft's TWR
# launching a cruise missile from the craft...? (ok, we can make it a non-violent buoy)
# setting out fishing rods (extending the basic red & white antenna) at each stop
# ......you get the idea.
The method of entry and exit from the water is entirely up to the submitter.
I must apologize for coming slightly unprepared by not having an exact count for the individual bodies of water. I would also leave it up to you if you would include or exclude the final leg of the river (which includes the river mouth and finish line) as being a leg that requires a pre-finish stop.
EDIT: By my count, and with high terrain graphic settings, there are 9 enclosed bodies of water, excluding the final leg past the Korkscrew which opens to the ocean and therefore is not technically enclosed.
400m and other course ceilings feel pretty generous in terms of limits, looking at how you fly :-)
ОтветитьLooking forward to Cupcake Landers doing one for this
ОтветитьYou made KSP into a sandbox racing game on steroids
ОтветитьChallenge: finish the course using a space station having A science lab module, a hitch hiker thingy module, And the widest solar arrays extended. Wider the better
ОтветитьChallenge Accepted
Ответитьare slightly modded components allowed (i.e. near future spaceplane) or tweak-scale allowed?
ОтветитьDo it using FAR for added challenge (realistic aerodynamics !)
ОтветитьI will TRY to stick to the canyon walls as much as possible. (Probably going to crash but, i will put kerbals on chairs on the out side of the rocket >:). )
ОтветитьPlease do more of these!
ОтветитьAlthough being really late, I've been doing this challenge often with different planes, the thing I don't like is how far away from the KSC it is.
I've been flying replica planes in it. because I know I cant beat any speed record
I've hit 7 minutes 56 seconds in a Sukhoi Su-37 Terminator, inverted and under the really low altitude challenge, except I broke the really low challenge by only 35 meters over.. my next target is to fly something massive in it, like a 747, or the Russian 225, and I want to have them carrying a shuttle :D
this is just a really fun challenge that I enjoy so much now, thanks!
Im pretty late but i made a plane that gets 1800m/s and its pretty maneuverable
I need to try this
How do you get to that river and where the heck is it?
