One of my favorite hidden gems at the University of Nevada, Reno is the cherry blossom garden.

This space between the Nevada State Historical Society and Fleischmann Planetarium features cherry trees, azaleas, and vast expanses of grass. The Nevada legislature designated the university as a state arboretum in 1985, and this garden is a perfect example of the campus’s natural beauty. The garden was created in memory of Akiko Yamashita, a Japanese student from 1989-1996. It also honors Hasan Cesi, a Turkish student from 1988-1990.
