Your showing the 50 cent piece reminds me of the US Kennedy half dollar coin of my childhood. It was larger than a quarter. I will now be able to recognize the amount without having to stare and squint as I count change when I relocate. The center color of the balboa is also a helpful tip. Thanks!

Maggie, Panama does not accept Discover Card. I tried when I visited and no one accepted it:-)

Correction Ms. Maggie - The US uses one dollar coins. They are usually dispensed from transportation vending machines when purchasing fares in cash. I know for sure that is is the case in NYC because I just moved from there.

Great info.Just wondering if you had any problems with the atm machine destroying your card? I heard that in a different video. What would a person do in that case there in Panama?
