Major bug as far as I am concerned:" some masking models failed to download, please try again later". I am unable to copy and paste settings so I had to roll back to an older version. It seems that mac users are affected.

Thanks for the video, Anthony. I typically use Lightroom CC, but thought I’d brush up a little on Lightroom Classic. I made sure I was using the latest iteration, but I ran into a problem. I started with a people mask and inside it made individual masks of face, hair clothes, etc. When I went to make adjustments, the entire person mask changed. I tried rebooting the computer. No change. I went over to Lightroom Cloud and had no problems. Is it operator error or a glitch? Thanks, Matt

Landscape Masking is also on Camera Raw...

Showing the checkered background in Develop is a nice first step, but it's really of kind of limited value when you have to open the image in Develop to see if it's clipped or not. They really need to make it visible at the thumbnail level! Otherwise it doesn't really help you FIND clipped photos.

Thanks Anthony for this preview. There is one thing I have been wondering for a long time... why when using the add, subtract and intersect functions the existing masks can't be selected? Instead we are forced to recreate a selection we have already made and adjusted. This is just more busy work when those selections already exist.

Thanks, but I notice that all these object-based selections have problems with the edges, even if they’re accurate selections. That’s why I usually rely on radial or brush masks only.

A great video Mr Morganti and I found it interesting when you said "On 1 Photo and Luminar Neo have had Landscape Masking for some time but now its available in LIghtroom Classic and CC". That makes me think Ive backed the wrong horse, because Ive spent years learning Lightroom Classic, mainly from you Mr Morganti and now it seems I backed the wrong horse because other companies are ahead of the game and Adobe are playing catchup!

Do you need to be online to use these masks ?

My problem with Adobe, now 13 years as loyal subscriber-stakeholder, is that they keep focusing at the bells & whistles. Fundamentally, they are too slow to innovate the actual basis in the Bayer paradigm: raw processing.

Bayer cameras without OLPF have a disadvantage with Adobe and 13 years after Nikon released the D800E (Eliminates the OLPF) they should be able to do better. In the absolute fundamental basics.

Raw in Photoshop will have the same benefits you have in the Develop Tab in Lightroom Classic. It's all Adobe Camera Raw.

To me, the tethering fix was "major" and I have to say, as Z 7, Z 7ii, now Z 8 shooter, that neither Adobe nor Nikon have been helpful here. It wasn't even at plug-and-pray level. Just plain not working and parties pointing at each other.

I needed to dodge to Capture Raw for effortless plug-and-play tethering to the Windows versions of the apps mentioned/implied.
Considering all the bandwidth in the Z 8,I feel that tethering should have been on a seriously higher bitrate version of USB ("C" is just the connector, I mean something like USB 4 or Thunderbolt).

Great new feature. Still waiting for non destructive Denoise. Have you reviewed that from Camera Raw compared to the Denoise in LrC?

Luminar masks are so good, sometimes I wonder why adobe is so popular. I know it has to do with Photoshop but the light room app is still far behind.

Adobe should add replace sky and add jpeg layers under the masks
