When I was just only a kid from where we traveled from new York to any state the different highway anywhere was so wonderful to me but now my dad doesn't have to drive from new York to any state no more.

The best memorable part of my day is driving bus college & back home.. Admiring that view with my favorite music on. Lord..the beauty of those moments can not be described with words. Brings such a mixed feelings of serenity, nostalgia and sadness that can't be explained

I grew up in the Appalachian mountains and I miss the curvy roads surrounded by trees. Even though I got car sick a lot, I liked the the mountain view, especially when we drove past the lake, it was so pretty.

I've taken this drive, it was in 1994. The entire area is quite beautiful. Now for the heresy. Except for a few areas the last mile is just like the middle mile which is just like the first. In other words if you drive the first mile you've practically driven all of it. The road is beautifully framed by towering trees on either side, it just doesn't change much except for a clearing or two. You can't see the forest for the trees! I was driving on a two lane highway with enough oncoming traffic along winding roads that I never really could relax and fully enjoy. Even without driving I think I would have felt the same way. I was driving in Alabama on I-10 (or I-20?) years ago and it was similar, where the road was carved through forests and made a pretty sight surrounded by tall pines. I wouldn't say it was monotonous, just that I was getting more and more underwhelmed as we moved on without a break in the landscape. Like I said, I'm a heretic!
