Today is the 65th anniversary of Palace of Culture and Science, which is one of the recognisable buildings in Warsaw. In honor of it, the Palace had been organising special events from 10 AM till 8 PM.
The Palace of Culture and Science is currently the tallest building in Warsaw opened on July 21st, 1955. The Palace is presented to Poles as the gift from Joseph Stalin. It was constructed by Soviet architector Lev Rudnev, who visited several Polish towns to familiarise himself with local architecture. Nowadays the Palace is destined for functioning as the office center also containing museums, bookshops, swimming pool, cinema and even the university.
