That one time I got yelled at for using a fanname like:

for real though I think people need to calm down whenever someone uses a faname to refer to a character it doesn't hurt anyone.
I mean if they're trying to claim that name as canon sure correct them with respecting their headcanon but being rude isn't the way to do it
I don't really refer to Boyfriend as Keith anymore but for DHMIS I refer to the trio as Harry,Robin & Doi
I've used them before the tv show came out and I don't plan to change it
although sometimes I refer to them as Red,Duck & Yellow (example: introducing the show to my friends or family,for fun,etc)
my personal AU Is Harry,Robin & Doi.
Faname headcanons aren't hurting you. so don't hurt them for it.
but don't also try to claim the fan names as canon. (on purpose) cuz that's not cool.
