This year is a big one for Tom. He's realised he can't peak for as many comps as Mitch so focusing on the big 4. I love Tom and I hope he can win something other than WSM. Trey is an absolute beast and if he has the discipline to work on his weaknesses and learns to move like Big Z, he will be incredible. So glad you mentioned Lucas, you read my mind. He's a static monster and again if he works hard on his weaknesses, he will be a major contender. I'm also intrigued to see wide Pav at Europe's. If that guy gets back to his best, watch out! Luke R is so unlucky. I'm watching this after Brits and he wasn't right there, but that looked like exhaustion rather than muscle, tendon, etc. One more mention. He's really young so could be a year or two off, but Ondre Fojtu shouldn't be ignored. Bucket loads of potential, looking forward to seeing what he can do this year. Great content again Toby. Cheers dude.

Don't forget Pavlo Nakonechnyy who already beat Mitchell at giants live.

The depth of field, as your list shows, is far greater now.
Consistency is key, that’s why Mitch has won so much in the last couple of years, and why Tom has been top two in the last five WSM.
Any weaknesses will be punished. So Tom, and Thor for me can topple Mitch. The others can win individual events.

Yeah In 2024, WSM Mitch had his hands riped, which affected his performance. If it wasn't for that I belive he would have won the title of WSM. But I agree Mitch is looking very strong but I think Tom Stoltman at his best is unstopable. Also Trey Mitchel has a good chance as well.

May God keep Luke injury free for a year or better and he will be beating everyone.

Evan has a great chance at any comp depending on how he comes in. At the Arnolds I just may jump up or have him kneel down so I can hit him upside the head and tell him he is the winner.

As Loz always says, with the right set of event anyone can win and with just one little mistake anyone can lose.

Ok I'll be the devil's advocate. Mitch is winning because promoters make comps to favor him. Now, knowing Mitch. He is a phenom and has the intelligence to figure out any event. A True Athlete in any type of comp. Now can he be beat or even not make a podium? Yes. We have so many up and comers in strongman and so many experienced athletes that just need a good day. Like always in a comp, anyone can win or lose on the day.

“With the right set of events” = “with a lucky break and their weakness isn’t exposed in one of the competition events”.

I think 2025 will be a phenomenal strongman season and Mitch will be pushed hard but I think he will dig deep and reign supreme again.

He has strength, intelligence and mental resilience needed to be a world class athlete.

In WSM his turn hands affected pretty much every event. If he hadn’t turn then he would have performed way better on that event and probably won the deadlift.

Good list. Let’s see which Strongmen elevate themselves this year. Hatton and Andrade were on very few people’s radars before 2024. Excited for the 2025 season!

Honestly it depends on the events. He just doesn't place outside the top 3 in any given event. Unless Mitch has an injury, I don't see Tom winning, his grip is not top 5 level and his deadlift is so-so. His only advantage is Atlas stones, which is just 1 event. Trey Mitchell could, if hitch is included, Trey has a stronger deadlift. Depending on the pressing event, Trey could tie or beat Mitch. But Trey's grip is weak so, again, depends on the events. Lucas Hatton has potential because he is stronger at pressing events but he needs to do better at moving events and deadlift. Hafthor, well, if his pressing holds he could catch Hooper, maybe tie.

I don't think anyone will "Dethrone" Mitch. He can be beaten at specific comps, but noone else has the ability to show up in peak shape and mog time and time again

is he unbeatable? of course not. But Mitch has to make a mistake and someone else needs to be in perfect form for it to happen. Big fan of Hatton and think hes one of the newer athletes that has a potential shot in the right circumstances

Hooper breaking the mold with his approach, performances, and persona. I will always root for underdogs, but I also want to see how long Mitch can perform at this level.

I am excited for all of the athletes you talked about, especially Trey and Evan.

Looks like mitch 3.0 is showing up. No one seems ready to dethrone him. He may lose once or twice, but over a whole year he will still dominate.

Tbf fully healthy mitch rinses those events. Look at dl. Tom beat him, yet mitch is miles ahead in dl

Really think Luke Richardson is going to push Mitch this year. Just as much of an all rounder, and once he really gets back into his groove he’s gonna be a problem
