So I guess I'm back! What song should I analyze next everyone?? :)
ОтветитьThank you so much!
ОтветитьSing-ger STOP IT!
ОтветитьGreat video and congratulations on the accuracy of the voices! Would you be willing to let me have the vocal parts? Did ou write them down? I would be happy to pay for them. Thanks!
ОтветитьNeil Young doesn't play or sing on this track.
ОтветитьGreat!
Is it possible to the some sheet music of this arrangement?
That would be amazing ❤
Brilliant. Simply brilliant!
ОтветитьWow!!!! That bridge was amazing!
ОтветитьSounds good!
ОтветитьGreat work, Todd! I can't imagine the time you spent in it: carry on!
ОтветитьVery nice Kevin. I’ve been in music for 45 years. You are quite the talent.
ОтветитьFantastic! I heard Penn Jillette say recently on his podcast that he thinks David Crosby was flat most of the time, but I find that hard to believe. I wonder if you felt that when you dissected the harmonies or if Penn just doesn't fully understand how harmonies are sung.
ОтветитьWould love to hear Deja Vu’s “Country Girl” melange broken down! That and “Carry On” (great job!) were the peaks.
ОтветитьBe interesting to hear you tackle something from The Zombies Odessey Oracle.
ОтветитьThis is very interesting and you've done amazingly. It's quite difficult to follow though. Would be great to have some kind of breakdown regarding the comparative melodies ie who goes where at what point, to try and get an insight into how they formulated their harmonies.
ОтветитьHow extraordinary!! I've never seen anyone break down the harmonies into digestible junks and then blend them to perfection. You're extremely talented so please keep up the brilliant work!!
ОтветитьNash pitch is too high.. makes you feel constipated
ОтветитьJust what I was looking for I just got frustrated trying myself to analyse so now it is baCK TO THE DRAWINGBOARD.
ОтветитьThanks for putting in the hard work.
ОтветитьJust found your channel....vocals are fantastic. Analysis...spot on. Thank you for all the hard work to get this right.
ОтветитьKevin wat een mooie samenzang . geweldig goed TOP
ОтветитьWOW Magnificent Work !!! Great !!!! Congrats !!!!
ОтветитьKevin that was awesome. Not sure how you figured out who sang what and at what vocal range but it’s accurate. I really enjoyed watching this video!
ОтветитьGreat harmony lesson Kevin! Super helpful! 😎
ОтветитьNon siete nemmeno vicino a quelle harmonious voice!!
ОтветитьI saw them in the Fillmore, 1969.
We couldnt believe the shimmering full tones came from only 3 voices.Magic
Great job!
very good job! I´d wish "As I come of age"
ОтветитьCan U make more CSN(Y) harmony video? As well as the break down of each vocal?
ОтветитьWonderful work, the harmonies sound fabulous! One quibble in Questions, Stills sings the words "are they" before the line "questions of a thousand dreams", you sang "whoa" at the point. Excellent work otherwise. Thank you!
ОтветитьWoW Kevin....Love the Vocal Lesson. If don't mind me asking what effects did you use in the recording of the vocals. Thanks... looking forward to seeing more!!!!
ОтветитьThe fourth line of the first two verses , the low voice is sang with the wrong notes in them. Sorry
ОтветитьI noticed that David Crosby has some unexpected notes at the end of some of his phrases. What's he doing there? Could this be his signature harmony style? How do these notes that seem out of place on their own fit the blend so well? Did you have difficulty figuring them out and singing them?
ОтветитьMan I think you nailed it! You have an excellent ear. Thanks so much
ОтветитьAmazing job. Lot of work involved, but the result is for the ages.
ОтветитьVery nice Kevin, when l saw CSN they performed In My Life and Midnight Rider, they only did covers of people they really liked.
Ответитьthese harmony lessons are amazing and so well done...since you identify the singer when you spot light the individual parts, when you come back show all the "singers", why not put their names up again? it would make it even easier to hear (really!)
ОтветитьThis song is from my generation so am familiar with it. Thought about covering it and record but I suck at harmony. I realized after watching your demo on harmonies it would take several attempts to get it. So I am thinking of passing on it. But I might change my mind later. But great job, fun video to watch ...
Ответитьthese are great tutorials/analysis
ОтветитьSounds like you do what I like to do....play a CSN (Y) song over and over, isolating each vocal part with your ear.
ОтветитьKevin, Could/would you let us know levels of Vocal instructions and the years it took to Aguire your level of expertise.??? Thanks for All Your Efforts! All the best!!
ОтветитьAmazing!
ОтветитьOk Kevin, here's one for ya .. Michael Jackson's Billy Jean ... Good luck...
ОтветитьThis is out-fucking-standing!! Thank you
ОтветитьWhat I'd love is just one of the three harmonies more prominent while the other two are slightly in the background. Hearing each one individually is wonderful but damned if I can remember it when you combine them all. Just asking.
ОтветитьI just don't have the harmony gene and I've never been able to find someone who can teach it. I try, but my brain only produces the main melody. It's an amazing and beautiful gift you have.
ОтветитьThat was a fantastic analysis. Carry On is a more difficult song to break down.
ОтветитьKevin, you are an amazing vocalist! I have heard you referance your
participation with others in the choir. I also have been in various choirs and groups since the age of 10. My junior high school choir teacher Mrs.Zagar, took an interest in me and my enjoyment of learning structured vocals AND ESPECIALLY, harmonies! I was under her direct tutelage until I graduated, then progressed to the McPhail Institute of Arts in Downtown Mpls. After five more years of training and studying I took leave of my matriculation. However, I never ceased to get together with others, whether it being with band mates or groups. Now, at 63 years old, there really are no surprises anymore. However, I am in two groups still, my church choir and (had to keep it fresh) a local barbershop QUINTET. Now working on re-polishing my Tag harmonies!
I'd really love to see a breakdown of what notes/intervals/harmony is being sung. Does anyone know of a channel that does that?
