Lincoln MKZ 3.0T Air Filter Change

How is the car with the new kn air filter? Any improvements? I just bought a 2018 mkz 3.0t AWD and i was wondering if i should buy one thanks.

Be careful putting a k&n in these. These turbos are super sensitive to debris and with the way the intake air is channeled through the front grill, you will pick up all kinds of sand and small particles in you air box. This is why they added that second layer of filter material to the stock filter. It didn’t contain the 2nd layer in 2017 but due to the boatload of turbo failures it was later added.
Also, if you do decide to use a k&n (on any vehicle) it’s SUPER important to follow the instructions and treat the new filter with k&n filter oil prior to installing it. It helps capture the smaller particles.

Same method for the 2.7L and 3.0L Continental. Putting pivot tabs back in opposite the clips side was a little finicky, but not hard at all.

I just bought my 2017 Black Label 3.0T AWD a month ago and was wondering about the K&N filter as well. Does it improve performance and MPG?
