Years later and this still holds up so well. I love the idea that Nightmare Moon was something Luna had all along, and something she had used before. It makes her sudden shift from kind ruler to tyrant a bit less sudden, and a bit more *inevitable*. Like, each time she became Nightmare Moon she had a harder time getting control back until she lost it completely. (It's almost 3 in the morning and instead of going to bed I'm over-analyzing a non-canon fan animation)
