my rescue Ridgeback Marley is an absolutely wonderful dog-loyal companion and truly one-of-a-kind-I also firmly believe that if we were threatened in any way the ferocity of his temperament would then be staggering

There’s a Rhodesian ridgeback at the daycare I work at and I truly think you have to see them in person to experience how actually beautiful and loving these dogs are. Absolutely one of my favorite breeds.

When will you do some new videos.

I think that was the worst introduction of a person greeting dominant dogs I've seen. You have to establish boundaries for Ridgebacks and enforce them. They need to know their place in the pack.

mine was mixed breed with akita . She was not friendly with other dogs and people too . But very smart and a total retriever . Lived for the tennis balls !!!

We thought we were getting a chocolate lab. Turns out she was a mix w/Ridgeback. She’s high energy, doesn’t like being wet or cold. Super smart and a great protector.

Ridge backs are a work of Gods Finest Wolves. The African Wolf that hunts Lions to submission, and fear of death. Great and PEACEFUL around veterans... companions of heart. She Loved Me RIP Red Bud.

They were called Rhodesian Ridgebacks for a reason!!! The breed was completed in Bulawayo Rhodesia!!.

We have a brother and sister Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed with Labrador Retriever. They are the best of both breeds. They are athletic and stubborn and need stimulation or they will find their own. Right now they enjoy walks in the bush where they flush and chase rabbits. They are hunters and when they are hunting you are along for the ride. At 18 months old they are still in the puppy stage.

Have owned two. No reason to consider another breed, they are perfection.

From Rhodesia , a country that shares its southern border with South Africa, two different countries.

They are definitely one of the best dog breeds from our world, actually from Rhodesia, which is nowadays zimbabwe

Why is the Rhodesian Ridgeback "the Lion Dog of Africa"? The Boerboel is also from South African. It is about twice as big as a Rhodesian. It was almost used to hunt lions. Much like the size of the Boerboel (2nd biggest dog breed), the ridge on a ridgeback is their unique draw in the breed.

It’s interesting how, historically, the breed was utilized for protection from and the hunting of big cats and other animals… meanwhile, in today’s world, zoos will sometimes use Rhodesian ridgebacks as companion animals for orphaned cats, mostly cheetahs! It’s happened several times here at the San Diego Zoo. They’ve also used golden and Labrador retrievers, but Rhodesians seems especially effective with cheetahs, maybe it’s the African connection.

Awesome dogs. My mum had one on her farm, she was Lucy. Unfortunately she was taken by a car with another of her dogs on the nearby highway after going off the property. It was devastating. Both dogs were her 4 legged kids.

I Alive in south Africa

My favourite dog was a ridgeback cross I got from a shelter. She was a tad messed up when I got her and thank goodness she didn't goto a home with children but to me and select friends she trusted was an absolute sweetheart. Very muscular and stocky compared to a normal ridgeback. She looked liked if Mike Tyson was a Labrador. Best 8yrs of my life.

I am from Australia, and i used to have a ridgeback it was the best dog I've ever owned by far. No matter what the challenge was, she came thru with the goods. She was by my favourite dog.😊😊
