You are definitely doing it wrong. You must apply pressure when applying like you are removing a stain and you repeat the first process wipe and check until satisfied before moving to the allocation of the mirror plate and you you do the same too.

Step 1: Clean the surface area where the scratch is
Step 2: Prime the pad | Apply SP6 to your foam pad and spread the SP6 into the foam with your finger (So there is no dry foam touching the paint in the next steps)
Step 3: Apply two small dots on the foam
Step4: Firmly rub the scratch with the primed pad in circular motions (You have to work it hard to remove the scratch)
Step 5: Wipe away any residue on the paint with a clean micro fiber cloth and inspect to see if the scratch is gone
Step 6: If you can still see the scratch then repeat Step 4 and Step 5, If the scratch is gone proceed to Step 7
Step 7: Apply Miraplate to the area where the scratch was with a microfiber, then flip to cloth to a clean side and wipe away the residue

Sp6 by hand ? Nooooo my friend you gonna have a ton of ugly small swirl mark scratches..

Follow instructions
1. Clean the car
2. Ensure surface is dry
3. Use the handle
4. Polish until it dries
