I'm no purist when it comes to cinematic license, but this is just too much to fathom. I was actually confused trying to reconcile so many denizens of the Near East living in a medieval Swiss hamlet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the story of William Tell involve a bow. He pulled two arrows and shot the apple. At which point the person making him shoot the apple asks, "why did you pull two arrows." William's response, "If I would of missed and killed my son, the second arrow would of been for you.". Then he gets arrested. That story doesn't work with a crossbow.

I always thought in the legend, it was the longbow that was used.
