This segment didn't actually show Rick hitting those killer high notes in that show. Unbelievable live performance by the other Canadian power trio that didn't sing Tom Sawyer.
ОтветитьYeah, they were great but after this show they fell off the map
ОтветитьI got news for you. This isn't legendary. VH 1 is, the Titanic is, the Cival war was and WW2. This isn't.
ОтветитьThat three day line up was unreal. Would have been Awesome to be there
ОтветитьHow to make a doc when you don't have rights to use any of the music, lol.
ОтветитьI was there… it was a great day in rock… I have to say that triumph did in fact have the best set of the day… what a day…
ОтветитьRock out roll on!
ОтветитьThe Us Festival is when Rick took over, and Triumph was the best band of the festival. Both years.
ОтветитьGil Moore gave the perfect rock vocals. There's a quality to his voice that's very rock-ish.
ОтветитьGROOVY!
ОтветитьI was there, it was HOT! It was hotter than it had been for the first US Festival, the September before. Saturday (New Wave Day) was the best overall day, INXS, Wall of Voodoo, Oingo Boingo, Men at Work, and the Clash, but Heavy Metal Day was good, from Triumph on to Van Halen. Monday had a great line-up, too, with Quarterflash, Berlin, Missing Persons, U2, the Pretenders, Joe Walsh, Stevie Nicks, and David Bowie.
ОтветитьWithout the light show, just a warm up band
ОтветитьPeople forget that Forrest Gump was Triumph's bassist.
ОтветитьLMAO, RUSH light, If Rush , in their hay day was a 10, these guys were a 5...... Ozzy, Priest, Scorpions, and even QR smoked these guys....
ОтветитьI was there. Triumph was very good but the best performance of all 3 days was David Bowie. He was phenominal. Triumph gets cheesy as hell pretty quick. They are like a talented Hanson. Judas Priest blew their doors off.
ОтветитьUgh, hearing JD Roberts with that affected American accent is so hard to hear. He was the coolest guy on Canadian TV back in the day.
ОтветитьI was there and, after the concert, I worked on that fingerpicking intro to ‘all the way’ for months untill i could play it. The fact that Rick could stop that intense guitar solo on a dime, sit down and finger pick that as clean as he did, is nothing short of remarkable.
ОтветитьDamn straight Menyhard. Triumph makes a three piece band fit into huge arenas and stadiums. To pull that off you have to be the best. The Police did it, but they don’t have the stadium chops IMO.
ОтветитьI always thought Triumph was a 4-5 piece band. That time around us you were either an April Wine guy or a Triumph guy in Mich so close to Can.. I was an April Wine guy but wow as an adult. I love these guys.
ОтветитьLast I heard Mike Laveen owned a 7-11 in Vegas.
ОтветитьIf they were so great how come they broke up after the US Festival. Rik Emmett never got the fame and recognition he deserved.
ОтветитьTriumph and The Scorpions definitely stole the show that day.
Ответить3 guys 2 lead singers and 1 underrated guitar player
ОтветитьDef should have been much much much more popular.
Ответить"What the fk have we gotten ourselves into here?" 😂
ОтветитьLoved Loved Loved this band with Surveillance being, by far, their greatest release. Meeting Rik was a disappointing event, he personally came off as a real d!ck to a true 'fan' sadly.
ОтветитьHappy to say I knew of their music before this gig. You can still play a song of theirs for people who haven't heard of them or their music, and they're always like, "No way that's 3 guys!"
ОтветитьIn the opening section of this ..look at triumphs bass player shirt it says 99.5 kiss San Antonio TX. Triumph belongs to San Antonio. San Antonio introduced them to America. Long live joe Anthony the godfather of Rock n roll
ОтветитьI wasn't there.
ОтветитьI always thought it was the U.S. Festival... But it was us all along.
ОтветитьSTOOOPID ME!!! I had to go and get myself GROUNDED for getting picked up by Anaheim PD at Summer Strut. Going to this was out of the question.
ОтветитьThey suck. The singing is horrible and the music is boring. They got what they deserved.
ОтветитьToo bad Triumph couldn’t keep it together. They were a great band.
ОтветитьI was there and went over the barrier during Triumph's set. I had been there for over 3 hours at that point and 300,000 people wanted my my spot. I will never forget it. I ended up 10 yards under the stage when they pulled me out. One of the best days of my life.
ОтветитьTo bad the Canadian tv interviewer that I remember from Citytv we all thought was a pretty cool guy but he turned into a Fox News disgusting talking head that wouldnt piss on you if you were on fire.
ОтветитьOH no, Eddie Trunk chimes in.
ОтветитьBorn in 79. Too young for the band. I watched a few songs in 2024. Just an incredible performance. That's great rock n roll folks.
ОтветитьWas forest then full of rats
ОтветитьIt’s a comment it’s going to record the comment
Ответить2024 - thank you WOZ !
ОтветитьDrummer for Triumph, Gil Moore......sounds eerily like Ted Nugent when he speaks into the mic from the drum stand.
ОтветитьI had no idea Steve Wozniak was one of the people who helped put the US festival together....holy cow.
ОтветитьI was there in 83 at the US festival, they were the best band out of all the bands that day, that's a fact, Van Halen literally sucked
ОтветитьSimple facts - highly underrated band, more talent between the THREE of them than 2 or 3 other bands combined that played that day, and style that captivated their audience. TRIUMPH deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
ОтветитьThey were so tight that day.
ОтветитьTriumph were so amazing
ОтветитьCalifornia sucked even back then. It just took them this long to realize it, and catch up to how people really thought of them.
ОтветитьI was there as well and Triumph was just magical.
ОтветитьWas there. VH got all the hype, but,,,, in my humble opinion, Triumph and The Scorpions were the best bands of the day. VH was a drunken sloppy mess.
ОтветитьSunday by far the best day!
