Thor, Loki and Thjalve stumbled across Skrymir when they took shelter in what they thaught was a cave. But in the morning they realised that it was a giant glove. Skrymir offred to give them the food in the bag as a thank you for looking over his glove. Also Utgard Loki didn't deflect the hammer blows to create valleys, he placed mountains on his forehead so when Thor hit the head with Mjölner he created the big caves that are in some Norwegian and Swedish mountains. Most famous Häst mannen (Or the horse man).
