Trying to identify the ridge you were on at the 2min mark? First I thought it might be Raspberry, but now i think maybe not.
ОтветитьDid you try to let it dry on you? Which on come dry kwicker?
ОтветитьThis just goes to show how some companies are ripping us off. I don't have an endless budget like some do. When I was on the Colorado Trail and stopped in Breckenridge, where a 970 sqft home was $700,000, EVERYONE was wearing Patagonia...but I bet my Decathlon Jacket was just as warm!
Ответитьanother awesome review thanks for the comparison you help us newbies get on trail at a good starter cost with good gear 🍻🍻🍻
ОтветитьHow can jacket of $25 be sustainably produced?
ОтветитьI use an Ortovox Zebru swisswool insulation layer jacket. Incredibly warm, and ultra thin and light at 9.2oz/260g. Dries super fast if it gets wet and since its wool it will still keep you warm. High marks for style as well.
ОтветитьThe editing is freaking me out man!
ОтветитьI got the Atom LT for $180 and it is my favorite jacket of all time. I wear it almost everyday.
ОтветитьGreat review Justin. I had heard of Decathlon, but didn't think they were in Ontario. I know they are in the West and QC but after seeing your review I did a little digging and found there is a store just north of Toronto in Vaughan that opened in the summer of 2021, so I headed there yesterday. I can't believe what a gold mine this place is for people like me who wished they could afford all the top of the line gear but if I bought it, I wouldn't have the money to get out and do the things I bought the gear for. I bought the Trek 50 yesterday for $25 CDN, the Trek 100 on sale for $25 CDN as well (1/2 off) and bought some other items. I am shocked how good the stuff looks and I dropped only $110 CDN yesterday and came away with a decent haul to try out. I am all for supporting cottage vendors and know their stuff is more money but companies like North Face, MEC, REI and Arcteryx are doing just fine without my money, so this was a terrific find you lead me to. Thanks so much and hopefully one day I'll get to see the West coast of Canada where you are (west of me in Ontario anyway) ), since it looks so beautiful. Love if you could review some more of their things. I saw part 1 and part 2 of your budget gear, but if you come across anything else you can recommend from there, I would like to hear about it.
ОтветитьDamn so much information in just 4 minutes and crazy editing? You are truly an inspiration for me! Also again thanks for showing budget trekking gear and not just often overpriced brand stuff!!!!
ОтветитьHi Justin - Love your videos! Great content 🥰 In this video I would have liked to see you compare the wearability, packability and breathability of the two jackets. With such a huge price difference between the two it would also be good to know how the DWR compares. I know I'm being picky - just a suggestion for future comparison-type videos 🤗
ОтветитьBest deal I had for a insulated jacket was the 94 Himalayan retro Parker on sale from £670pounds down to £270pounds .it's made from future light on the outside and RDS 700fill goose down.with boxwall baffles.its way too warm for UK weather but it was a bargain
ОтветитьMy local Arc’teryx outlet regularly has the atom lt from $140-$180 CAD and at that price I think it’s definitely worth it. I also got a Nuclei FL there for $150 and it’s by far my favourite synthetic jacket
ОтветитьMy 8 year old Atom LT hoody is still going strong. The only thing that I have to watch out for is driving for a long time while wearing it. I don't want to compress the Coreloft in the back just because I drive a lot. It's best used in fall/spring because of the breathable fleece side panels.
ОтветитьJust got one and some hats! Thanks
ОтветитьI have the trek 100 down and synthetic versions. You can't beat those jackets for the price
ОтветитьKeep following your nose Justin!
ОтветитьI have the LT and the AR, i use more the LT becuase in Spain the winter is soft but the AR is amazing for colder temperatures is a must have, really impressive.
ОтветитьOur employers spent over £600 a piece for 150 Arcteryx single layer rain jackets.
This is the most mind-boggling and stupid waste of money I have seen in my entire life.
Calling average clothing "tactical" because it's black does not justify a 300% price increase. Arcteryx customers are gullible mugs.
Justin, as always great review. Is the Decathlon jacket also windproof?
Ответить😻 P r o m o S M!!
ОтветитьI do not know if Atom LT worth so much money, I do not own one, but Trek 50 definitely not worth the 15€ that it costs in my country. Very low quality materials, hanging threads, the stitches are awful , the central zipper sticks, etc.
ОтветитьDoes the trek 50 pack into itself?
ОтветитьI paid over £400 for my Arc’teryx, looked at the label, made in China. Jesus.
ОтветитьHugely informative. Dec has been huge in Europe for years and their outstanding value and quality is well known. Have you reviewed the Atom SL? Keep up the great work!
ОтветитьDecathlon supports the genocidal regime in Russia. It will soon be selling Forcalz walkons.
ОтветитьNylon is far more rip resistent and durable also it is a far more expensive plastic to source plus that warranty is pretty impressive. So there are big differences.
ОтветитьI prefer the Proton LT for numerous reasons.
ОтветитьHere in the UK I can see both sides of the coin. I absolutely love my arcteryx aerios gtx shoes but find the baselayers I have no better than my Salomon, Columbia, Berghaus etc alternatives at half the price. I've got a few decathlon forclaz trousers and they are great. I've had other cheaper brands that have been crap though.
ОтветитьAnything with a "top quality brand name" WILL ALWAYS CARRY A HUGE MARK-UP because of the name. Its called Branding and companies pay a lot of money to generate it and want to recover their costs. IT HAS NO ACTUAL BEARING ON THE RELATIVE QUALITY of the product.
EG BMW, Ferrari, Bennetti, Sunseeker, etc
What are the trousers you have on?
ОтветитьMade in Chyna I'm sceptical about green claims
ОтветитьCool vid. Although recently I have had several issues with Arcteryx warranties. They don't seem to stand by their products so much as they used to.
ОтветитьHi Thank you very much for the review. It´s very helpful. Could you please tell me the color of the Arc´teryx?
ОтветитьHey Justin, love your videos! You have helped me a ton! Quick question… is this jacket used as a replacement for a down jacket in your pack or as an added layer? Still dialing in my cold weather layering system, so any input would be greatly appreciated!
Ответитьnice to meet your twin, never new...
ОтветитьWhat are the pants? You have them in all your cold weather videos.
ОтветитьCan you please make video about how to get correct size of winter layers? It may sound basic, but i have end up with winter layers that are either tight or lose. :(
ОтветитьAwesome video
Have you also done comparison of decathlon sh500 warm parka with some expensive parka ?
own the atom but prefer the proton for mid layering or even more so rab has a lot of good insulated jackets currently using neutrino pro for winters in canada, hope that helps anyone
ОтветитьDecathlon Jacket I had to give it to my husband. I got very disappointed it was to tight on my waist and stomach. This brand needs to made it as accurate size . I wear a XXL or a 3XL in men's jacket depending on the brand. For my husband it fit him great he loved it. Know I my self have to buy me a different brand no bigger size available .
ОтветитьIf a hood is necessary people can look at the MT100 which does have one and still much cheaper than the Arcteryx
ОтветитьI think I'll go for Decathlons Trek 50 for 0°C
ОтветитьNylon will stink just as much as polyester i really don’t know where you got your info from. Also, nylon will loose all of its strength when exposed to UV light for a while, wile polyester will have a slight UV resistance naturally.
ОтветитьYou get Arcteryx same reason you get Patagonia or Gucci.
ОтветитьDecathlon is all about the fit for me. I have some clothes from Decathlon, they all are cut a little awkward. I rather spent a lot of money for a great fitting jacket I'm really happy with - not Arcteryx though, that's where I draw the line.
ОтветитьI wonder what's the temperature degree when using the Trek 50. Can it be used in like minus 5 Celsius?
ОтветитьVery informative and amazing editing. Followed & subscribed. 😊
ОтветитьIs the MT Trek 50 suitable for 0-5 C with around 20km/h winds? With and without a sweater.
Ответитьarcteryx no longer has a lifetime warrenty, and they got bought out by a chinese company, changed all the materials, fits, and quality, and now its a completely different jacket that is poor quality overpriced junk
Ответить
