I have had my 20000 for 2 years now and I love it It is a heavy beast, but it cant be beat.
I only use it for surf fishing and used it once on the boat for gator blues. That reeled in the gator like it was a porgy.

the line lay is a joke even for reel 1/10 its price

Okuma really surprised me with the Tesoro and Makaira reels, both are stronger than they have any business being. You can really lean into them and the drag doesn’t slip one bit.

Line Capacity sucks goose nuts .. 80lb at 400yds give a little. Spinfisher 10500 holds 500+ yds of 80lb, Even the Fin Nor 10500 has better line capacity 480 yds of 100lb.

I really like my 20k. Alberto Zertuche from Team Hard Life was able to spool 500 yards of 80lb braid on mine. I set the #5 notch to 5lbs of drag when I'm going after blacktip and spinner sharks from the beach.

makaira is realy a good from what i've read in some forums , but i'd say penn authority is just as good as stella or saltiga , i have 4500 authority and stella 6000hgc sw , good review ,,,tight lines .

Which rod was that? A 100lb or lower line class?

Been using this reel for 2 months for Tarpon and Snook fishing. A lot of people have no idea how good this reel is. But a lot of the kids that use the Van Staal and the Stella reels believe that Okuma makes garbage reels this reel is a tank. It's got some weight so not really ideal for casting lures a lot

New Sub-totally agree dollar for value the Okuma are hard to beat. Wish I could go fish with you. No saltwater in north GA but we have super large striped bass in Lake Sidney Lanier. 🎊
