Are there ever circumstances that an attorney is required by code, legislation or court order to disclose things that are known based upon the attorney client confidentiality?

Is this confidentiality a part of an initial, free consultation when a perspective client reveals things to an attorney, but does not retain that attorney or otherwise use their services?
