Best frickn exhaust note ever
ОтветитьHaving owned
I2,I3,I4,I6,F6,V6,V8 engines I've never owned an I5 but they're the best sounding other than a V10.
Flat plane crank V8s and V12s also sound amazing 🤩
Honda also had the G series engine. They abandoned it in 1998. There could have been a VTEC I5.
ОтветитьI have a 5-cylinder in my Chevrolet Colorado. It's great!
ОтветитьБрат южинии куни.
Ответить@engineeringexplained care to explain why this got the crankshaft drawing wrong?
ОтветитьThat crank shaft drawing is wrong...
ОтветитьI never hear of 5 Cylinders 5 straight are 2 Pistons some on one side are 3 on the other side in one Block.
Ответитьwhy are you in such a hurry
ОтветитьBut the real reason to use an inline-5 is the sound. Fun is a thing, y’all.
Ответитьwhy dont they put the solo piston in the center instead of the end
ОтветитьRegarding what he said about i5s being shorter than I6s, volvos successor to the 6cyl version of the 5cyl was actually 1mm shorter than the i5.
ОтветитьPro: balanced reciprocating mass.
Con: Plane imbalance.
Me: visible confusion
What does this have to do with the price of tea in china?
ОтветитьVolvo s60r anyoneeee???
ОтветитьWhen do you use an I5? When you want a station wagon that sounds like a Lambo.
ОтветитьI would like a little more in depth version of this video
ОтветитьJust dropping a comment here in 2021 as I just watched the video. I was always curious but never did any research at all.
Thanks for the video.
looking at that crankshaft head-on diagram, it seems to me like they should go 14253 instead of 14325. Like the firing order on a radial. I'm guessing either there's a vibration effect not immediately obvious to me or maybe an enhanced torque delivery like with a 270 degree twin.
ОтветитьDidn't understand how the primary forces and the secondary forces are balanced on the vertical plane. Anyone got it?
ОтветитьAs a Volvo s60R owner i support this video haha
ОтветитьMy 1994 single cab chassis VW Transporter has a 2.5 litre inline 5 Cyl. Still going strong. slow revving but smooth power with low rpm's
Ответитьplease explain 5 cylinder valve adjust
ОтветитьBought me an xr5 just for the amazing sound.
Ответитьتهادؤ
ОтветитьHonda should have kept the 5 cylinder..
ОтветитьWhat about the balancing characteristics of this engine
ОтветитьI love my B5244T!
Ответить:29 you said 4 stroke instead of 4 cylinder . . .
ОтветитьAudi´s i5 don´t have a balance shaft. at least the i5 i had/have (NG2 and AAN) they balance the engine with some unbalances in the flywheel and in the timing belt wheel.
ОтветитьI have a 2005 VW Jetta 2.5 and I always was wondering how a 5 cylinder worked! Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьI hate it because vw decided it would be better than just destroking a vr6. The vr6 has a cylinder wall issue, sure. Cylinder head issue, definitely. But it's a small price to pay to get true i6 firing order and balance. A destroked vr6 could have been a monster 400-700hp 10k rpm beast
ОтветитьI like my Fiat Marea 2.4 20v. Nice car!!
ОтветитьConsidering how much people hate the sound and feel of 4-cylinder engines in luxury cars, I'm surprised turbo 2.5L I5s haven't started becoming popular as a premium engine option for small to midsize cars. They burn less fuel than a V6 while feeling and sounding more special. What's not to like?
ОтветитьAlso a pro is, that its possible to fit it in cars with power delivered to the front sideways allowing also for a shorter car if you wish. Therefore it will rock the car a little of course.
An I6 however wont fit sideways easily, especially in cars with power delivered to the front. Most likely you will put is parallel to the driving direction requireing a longer hood.
Therefore an I6 counters all primary and secondary forces and doesnt rock allowing for even higher revs. I6s are easy to work on making them one of the ideal engines for tuners.
Morning guys I have a mercedes benz sprinter 416 cdi can you please help with the firing order coz I have done the top n when u crank it, does not want to start so I m suspecting the firing order
Ответить+1. .. Fond memories of the Audi inline 5cly 2.2l turbo used in the mid-nineties models UrS4 and UrS6, both sedan and kombi. .. RS2 enhancements at an owners fingertips. ...
Ответить2.4 20v JTDm here and i love it 💪
ОтветитьI really like this chanel. Thank a lot. Sir
ОтветитьFor Diesel motors this configuration was great. Mercedes has built a lot of them, mainly on 50's with the 170 cars, well into 60's, then later lending them to SsangYong vans and pick ups. They were wonderfully smooth. Dont know if they still build them.
ОтветитьQuestion: why has my in-line 5cylinder Not a balancer shaft?
VW Quantum (Passat 32B by us in Germany) from year 1987
Sorry for my bad english
Thanks, The inline 5 has the same Rocking Couple as an in-line 3!
Ответитьvolvo is the king of 5 cylinder engines
Ответитьok here is the challange i was changing the crankshaft seal had the cams locked i neglected to lock the crank when i went to remove the crankshaft bolt the crankshaft spun and now i need to reset the initial timing in a volvo 5 cylinder Q. how does the timing for the crankshaft and camshaft get set if there is 2 cylinders in compression stroke
ОтветитьI have a chevy Colorado with 3.5 I5 , always wondered about that engine. Thanks for the video
ОтветитьThe puppy torque of engen is sweet
ОтветитьBut they sound bad. Odd harmonics.
ОтветитьA friend of mine had an Audi RS2 avant with a 5-cylinder motor... that thing was a fast beast and it was probably the best sounding engine I've ever heard below 6 cylinder sizes but still better than a few inline sixes and v8's out there.
ОтветитьAudi & Volvo like this!!
Ответить
