Avoid NEW Southwest Airlines Bag Fees

Technically, the cheapest credit card is the $149 one. You get a $75 Southwest credit plus 7,500 points. And you get 4 upgrades each year. I only fly southwest 4 times each year but get roughly $180 in value.

I'm always shocked at the lengths people will go through to avoid paying for checked bags. I didn't realize how bad it was because we normally fly Southwest due to the number of direct routes from Austin. We flew to Knoxville recently so we took AA. There was almost nobody at baggage claim on those AA flights!

I guess I'm glad we can afford bags because I'm not a minimalist packer. 😂

Do we have to use the Southwest credit card to get the free bags, or is it simply that we have the credit card?

Have a funny feeling they will change that rule too down the line. Cause with this, people will be trying to pack as many things into a carryon and it will be way to heavy. And along with their personal baggage too

I purchased tickets a month ago for a trip in July. I wonder if I'm going to have to pay baggage fees even though I bought the ticket a month ago
