I have a question on the dynamics of fights in prison. Let's say (hypothetically) you hit the yard for the first time. Canteen comes and I try and stand over you for your stuff. You then tee off on me and sort me out, but the guards never find out about the whole ordeal.

What's our dynamic like typically like going forward? Are you keeping an eye on me or is kind of water under the bridge?

Whistles were also used prior to screws having walkie talkies and panic buttons on them. It was stopped in about 1979 . Before that in NSW a lot of screws had silver whistles on them .... i think English screws had them also As did English cops . That is why you didn't whistle . Also the word dog came from dogs barking when your doing a crime they bark and let people know your around that's where the term dog came from they give you away .

You give some good advice about talking about your case . These days people ask you about your case , Don't trust anyone , Because a lot of criminals are looking for ways to get out early or beat charges and you might think you didn't say much but they make the rest up themselves.

Also do not lend gamble and not pay it back or do a crime and hide money on yourself because it is called lashing and a old crime saying is if you lash you lag. That means if you will lash you will tell on them .

Do they cut anyone slack if they’re new and don’t know the rules?

When I was in jail in BCC some dude came in and said hello and shook every dudes hand in the entire unit lol.
Was random everyone was like who’s this fella.
He seemed like a first timer like myself but yeah I wouldn’t have been game to go about that approach.
A lot of people who had never been to jail told me things like “keep your head down and don’t talk to many people” but I found that like I think it’s important to make some friends and try get along with as many people as best you can I guess everyone is different and I was only a backpacker doing 6 months so it’s easy enough to get through that amount of time without too many dramas.
But I feel like it’s nearly impossible to get along with everyone or at least not feel like at least someone in the unit has something against you.
Jail is shithouse I was on edge the entire time never felt at ease until the day I got out. But it certainly helped me out to mature a bit I guess, was a good learning experience but I feel like if I had of done much longer it would have been hard.
I respect those people like yourself who have gotten through long terms in jail and come out alive with a lot of wisdom to share, people who haven’t been in really have no concept of what it’s like.

Hi Biff. 05/11/2017 Marngoneet Correctional Centre, Shane Spokes threw Bucket of water over me in cell and broke my two crutches. I was 67 years old at the time vulnerable who solely pick on the weak.

The prison system cannot cope with these dogs causing havoc like Stokes doing straight sentences when their release date comes the prison have to release these plastic gangsters, back into society until the next time. haven’t the balls, to do indictable offence not summery offence

They’re weak dogs cry to the court poor me with a chip on their shoulder in and out of the slot to prove to their mates how touch they’re there no better they’re all sheep.

if they had Maximum and Minimum sentence, with parole hanging over their heads they would be quite as a mouse these low lives plastic gangster they want to break your parole.

On the subject of not talking to people you don't know or introducing yourself to people you don’t know... I'd gone out one night for a stroll and walked up on a group of locals sitting in the park. They invited me to join them and so I did. But a few minutes later this bloke with an attitude storms over and asks one of the people in the group who I was. I'd seen him around, I knew he'd been locked up (small town, people talk). Anyways, in an attempt to de-escalate the moment, I began to introduce myself while reaching out to shake his hand, but he just scowled at me and responded with, "I'm not shaking your hand. I don't know you!". Seconds later he fucks off with everyone and I'm just left standing there thinking, “wtf was that!?”. haha So hearing this now kinda makes sense knowing his history and the attitude.

Been to several jails in nsw Kempsey old silverwater mrrc Parramatta john maroney I'm a small man and has stuck my these rules every sentence and have never had a drama keep ya mouth shut stay of the bupe and don't fkn gamble stay safe and out of jail ❤

Same thing applies with whistling shipboard. I think it has much to do with not being able to get away from it. It’s unlucky because your shipmates could pitch you overboard. I hate whistling with a vengeance - it takes me from calm to murderous real quick.
