I'm trying to figure out how I have been alive for as long as this movie has existed and now, 33 years later, I am just now discovering its existence because someone used clips from this movie to make a music video. Why was this movie left behind, ESPECIALLY considering some of the other classics created by the same man?

I don't remember seeing this in the 90s but was intrigued to see it after watching the Mr Kitty video.

A John Hughes movie, not in the same league as Ferris or Breakfast Club but well worth watching. Two likeable characters - Jim is the everyman and Josie is the dreamgirl played warmly by the astoundingly beautiful Jennifer Connelly. It's essentially a male fantasy giving hope to average Joes everywhere.

I'm a big fan of John Hughes movies , i have been doing 80s movie reviews for the last 10 years , and 80s music , Am a big fan of A flock of seagulls and i saw a clip of this movie with Space aged love song and Jennifer totally captivated me , She's a great looking woman , But can't understand why ive not seen this movie . I'll have to purchase it now .

Poor guy. Went from a graveyard-shift janitor to a petty criminal in Los Angeles, living in a run down apartment drinking Coca-Cola and chowing down on Kahuna burgers. Then one fateful day there was a knock on the door... and like his dreams of working at Target again, it all came to an abrupt end. 😢
