I was wondering how many videos I could watch before you said something about schisim lol. Im glad this popped up

Honestly, when it comes to writing in odd time signatures, I don't even really think about it. Outside of the few things I've intentionally composed in specific time signatures, I genuinely don't know what most of the riffs and licks I've written are in, and I honestly don't care.

I just go where the noodling takes me, and when I find something that sounds good, I work from there. I know it's probably not the best method, but it's just how I do it.

Honestly guys, the guitar super system is AMAZING!!!! I’m self taught and thought I didn’t need this, but DUDE it’s for everybody! It’s not just a beginner system, he has things ranging from music theory ( odd meters ) to acoustic guitar based lessons. It’s worth trying for 1 month ( 10$) and after that month?! You’re gonna want to buy it for a year

Probably better to think of Frame by Frame's riff as Belew's guitar playing two bars of 7/8 while Fripp's playing a bar of 7/8 and a bar of 6/8.

I thought 13/8 was everyone’s favorite time signature.

Skin and Bones by the Foo Fighters isn't necessarily a weird time signature, but it does change time signatures through out the song.

A. Jones is such a minimalistic-simplistic player but a mean riff machine at the same time. My man's been playing the same 5 power chords on the entire Tool discography, but somehow not a single song sounds similar to any other.

I would argue that Rosetta Stoned and 7empest are both more complex than Schism.

This was the very first time o heard a Tool riff... 4 years later and 90% i play on guitar is now Tool.

one reason why tool is not just a band, it's a cult... for lack of a better word, because there's really none of the negative aspects of normal cults. every member is just beyond. even maynard's guitar tech goes on to be an amazing guitarist in another amazing band. i mean, how often does that happen?

Another way to feel schism is having 6/4 in your mind (5+7=12; 12/2=6)
