There is hardly a time that you want to ride around with you engine trimmed all the way down. Once your on plane raise you engine and it will tremendously help you fuel economy and speed. Most people say engine down in chop or whatever and that's not the case. With the engine up your boat will mostly just skip over everything.

It only works if you have a planning hull

If you have a light hulled boat or performance boat with 150hp or more, just floor it at half throttle and let her eat😂

Another pro-tip. Put your trim tabs all the way down if you have too many people on boat to get up on plane and they refuse to go to the front because they are hardheaded. (Learned this from experience lol)

So, you need to trim the bow up to avoid collisions that could cause your boat to sink. And if it does happen, be prepared to flag down help by using your Emergency kit of flares, and flare sticks.
