ghd original, ghd gold, ghd platinum+ | WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

I have had the GHD original straightener for over 10years I cant belive it lol i use it nearly every other day sometimes everyday I cant belive it's still works for me lol it does have a crack but my hair hasn't been damaged at all from the usage. I just had to share because I'm amazed myself I own something that old lol

The most important thing are the plates. I doubt that there's a noticeable difference between heat fluctuations if they didn't make it bad on Original on purpose... The only other difference is that they've used a one sided P regulator on Original, two sided P regulator on Gold, both probably calibrated on the fly, and a PID which gives the mythical futuresight to the Platinum Plus by memorizing past behavior and making adjustments to the regulator. Highly doubt that with the same plates anyone would see any difference between any of these, you just need to learn to use the Original and Gold, Platinum does the learning for you, that's it.

For any wavy/curly girls, how long does it stay straight for you? My hair tends to wave up a few hours after straightening but then again I've never had a very high quality hair tool besides Dyson.

I do have a question 😁 I do have fine hair & bought the original when my old pink ghds stopped working. I think the pink ones must have been a higher spec because I got a smoother feel when I used them but the origin has been known to tug at my hair 😒 Have you found this? And do you think a Gold or Platinum options would be ok for me? My hair doesn’t hold a curl either, so I mostly straighten my wavy fine hair. Thanks!

l had the original years ago,made my hair static,everything l touched electrical getting shocks lol,l stopped using ghd for years,then thought l give ghd another chance so bought the gold styler,omg what a big difference,no static nothing,l bleach my hair,and even though l use straighteners,they make my hair so smooth,no breakage,nothing

thank you for sharing. I have thin hair (also a bit damaged in the ends), so not sure whether to pick the original (as you say it's best for thin hair) or the platinum + /gold as those would control the temperature more and damage the hair a bit less. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I had a Platinum+ and I used to take it international trips as it is dual voltage. However, it stopped working recently. I got the dual styler since it is apparently better for hair, however I want to fix my old straightener. I don't want to throw it away just yet, any recommendations on where to get it fixed in the US?
