All in all, a very satisfying adaptation. I remember reading it in the late 70s. It has remained in my top ten favourite reads.

Please don't tell me this is a 12 part mini series with series 2 and 3 in the wings or that idiot kennedy is producing.

this movie made me tear up. for almost 12 years of aviation training and engineering on military aircraft, I take very serious on safety and quality. losing electrical and instrumentation would make a person panic and mind racing for survival. This Holy Ghost saved a life and avoided aircraft loss. bravo zulu

the classic Christmas time reading of Frederick Forsyth's great short story called the Shepherd was written by him for his wife who replied when he asked her what she would like for christmas, and she said, write me a ghost story.
The story has been a staple on christmas eve "my birthday" for decades here in canada.
Ably narrated by Alan Maitland since 1979.

I read this store 40 years ago in a digest it inspired me to much. I wished may some one make movie on it. Well done Walt Disney ❤

A real saint for pilots

This was such a good film!! Very touching! I remember this story when I was a child.

the Human Mind .......is a Fragile-Innovative, but "CREATIVE" organ, vast-logical-illogical (at times), deep thoughts, wide expanding innovations. gotta remember it IS Humanity who have created the Million plus 1 of numerous variety of things on this earth. from simple electricity in a light bulb to damn near Auto-Mated Vehicles to building tall skyscrapers to Monumental structures when there was NO CONCRETE to use to build these legendary - historical structures.......to creating Flying Machines......to traveling to planetary orbit of the Earth...........to put it bluntly = Humanity has come a LONG LONG LONG LONG VERY LONG WAY in Innovation. soo it would NOT surprise , people having "STORIES" of dreamy-dream like......being guided to safety........a known "past-lived" relative (usually, someone they WERE close to) have appeared in a "Dream Like" state.......to help Aid & Guide them outta of trouble.


in the military you will often hear from Combat Veterans speak about survival, fighting for one's very livelihood and there battle buddies. bleeding out on the battle field in a strange land ...the mind WILL-CAN place fantasy | tricks on you. again we know our brains are capable of Over Coming "Trauma" .....the PROBLEM IS. not all human beings OVER COME trauma in the same way-fashion. soo you will hear - Stories of "Survivors" Claiming they seen "an Angel Guding Them" or "God Spoke To Them" | " my Dead Wife lead me outta of the burning home" | " My best friend who died tragically, last year told me which way to go" | " my sister helped me from Drowning " | " i stretched my arms forward and reached out to grab my baby " ...etc etc - its ALL IN THE MIND !! Honestly :)

Watched it, this was really good, short but good.

I have read the Marathi translation of the story The Shepard. Ever since then I have loved this story, I have definitely seen the movie that is coming out on this story which I love, I feel that the way the author has written the story, the director has brought the story to the screen as well.

saw the short film ,absolutely loved it, the cinematography was peak, also felt really good watching a winter film in this bloody heat( its usually between 45 to 50 degree celcuis here in pakistan)

Watched this just before last Christmas, loved it.

The pilot’s helmet has an ANVIS mounting bracket fixed to it……never had NVG’s back then!! They must have burrowed a contemporary helmet and missed that simple but obvious attachment!

I listen to this story every Christmas Eve on CBC radio in Canada.

Wish we had Ben Radcliffe as Harry Potter instead of Daniel Radcliff
