I was born in late 1958, exactly EIGHT months after my parents got married, was a full size baby (not 12 lbs., though!). Once I learned about "the birds & bees", and did the math, even as a small child I knew there was no "upside" to announcing my deduction!

Considering how Robert was raised, I'm surprised he didn't become a supervillain.

Poor Robert.

How could Robert have never found out about his birthday? He had to have noticed something when he applied for a driver’s license or a job, even the police force by age 40?

Brilliantly written and acted scene.

They couldn't have lied about when they got married?

So basically this explains why Raymond was the favorite. Robert isn’t the child that Marie wanted at all. That is why Raymond was spoiled and shower with attention from Marie.

Feel so bad for Robert, he was lie to all these years. Just to keep people from finding out Marie isn’t as good as she claims. If I was Robert, I would have walk out or told them to shut up. When they were singing happy birthday to him. Just adding insult to more emotional injury!

Wow, it seems there was a totally different production team for this episode. The hair, makeup, costuming, set design, even writing is out of place from the rest of the series.

People have bad birthdays but Robert's was THE worst.

This happened with my husband. His mother had to "confess" when he needed his birth certificate to join the military. Poor Robert, others know your pain.

I'm guessing things must have been different back when Robert was younger and at the time of the show because not having your correct birthday on specific forms would come back as wrong, at least now. I'm shocked no back ground checks didn't catch this sooner.

This explains why Marie was trying to hard to stop Ray and Debra from having sex in the flashback. She didn’t want her son to have an illegitimate baby and be forced to marry someone he maybe didn’t want to, or she already didn’t like Debra, either one works

The only thing about this is unless this was a home birth, Robert should’ve found out his real birth when he got his driver’s license.

Ha ha this exact thing happened in my family. They had 8 kids after that. Didn't come out till my father died.

Him not knowing his real Bday is kinda cruel

Robert should have been thought as a Love Child, if they loved each other, he was conceived from their love. Not an accident or mistake.

I would have never left Italy if I was Robert. He really had it made there.

Dumb plot. Robert would need a birth cert to get his job and get married and the birth cert would have shown his real DoB.

Amy's facial expressions were so memorable on this show. They serve such a simple yet important purpose.
