How to Make a 3D Text Effect in Photoshop

I need the template file as i cant find the 3d option :/ ps so lame!

Quick question, the ground plane seems straight forward but, what if you need to put the word a big 3D sign on the side of a building or picture frame on the wall and have the light actually cast shadows on the wall not ground? Of course, the background would be a perspective photo of a building or interior. Thank you again!

My PS crashes when I merge 3D layers very frustrating. I don't know what to do.
I tried it at least 6 times and every time crashes at the same time when I try to merge both 3D layes

I tried clicking on 3d but it's not working. Help

How do you save and or export it

Extremities of the 'B' and the 'L' do not show extrusion. This works no better than adding 'shadow' in layer effects in the much older version of Photoshop that I am using
