Reason’s new Guitar and Bass Amps by Softube

Doesn't look like there are a lot of cab/mic options like with the kuassa stuff. Looking forward to checking them out though.

I'm not exactly fond of the Line 6 amps disappearing in 2016, but who am I to complain since I definitely won't be spending two years recording guitars for my instrumental EP. :P

I am not that pissed off by the phasing out of the Line 6 devices - they were quite cumbersome, requiring setup in external application, Line 6 pod to get all the models etc.

However the new devices look disappointing. The selection of amps is pretty limited and lacks models of specific amps. There is no selection of amp channels. I would prefer there to be a 1x12, 2x12 etc. selection of cab types, not vague bright or dark settings. I don't see any options for setting mic types. And if someone was using overdrive or fuzz pedals in their Line 6 models there is no built in way to replicate that. Sorry to say this, but many multi-effect pedals offer more choices than those devices..

personnaly i prefer to used my digitech pedal board and Tech 21 transistor emulation pedal ^^ than the line 6 product, or better using the taylor made bass amp of my basssist and old Marshall amp of my guitarist ^^ Kuassa did a great job too for modeling guitar and bass amp.

Just as I finaly had those Reason Line6 guitar amps worked out, they pull this crap. They were great with those build in Wah-wah's. No I've got begin from cratch designing my sound. As a bonus, my music library of Line6 tracks can go down the drain in 2016. Thanks a lot.

reason 8 looks nice and all ... but its not nice enough , to make me want it more than my reason 5 ... and all my other stuff ... Reason should market less jumpy and more real ...
reason isnt going in the right direction , there focus should have been yes all this stuff , but also gear focused , and feedback loops ... reason and ableton can easily make feedback loops  unlike all DAWS .. and they dont talk about it ?  They should Hire Me

I still don't get why you're ditching line 6??? Softube = 4 amps + 4 cabs, line 6 = 98 amps + over 50 cabs + over 120 guitar effects. Makes no sense at all.

The softube amps sound much better then the line 6 ones IMO. I am all for Reason moving on with its sound.

Hey Propellerheads! I've got Reason 9 (upgraded from Reason 6) and am enjoying the Softube amps immensely! How about posting the patches/combinators you used in the video so that I can benefit from these great sounds! :-)

I cannot get even close to a usable metal guitar sound with this. So alone based on this, Reason is a waste of money for me. It sounds SO bad. I’ve played guitar for 25 years or so. So not a newbie here. The bad news is that I have paid for this DAW and dont use it because it’s useless for metal and hardrock. Completely useless. Here I have plugs by other brands like Overloud, and I cannot use it. How can Propellerhead put this crap in Reason. It’s a puzzle for me to understand, when they want to compete with the big guys like Protools, Cubase and such and they cannot put in a decent amp sim? Jesus 😳. Or at least open up for more vst plugs and not only Bias. I dont pay more money for Reason. That’s it for me. Bye bye Propellerhead.

These things are and always were utter and complete garbage. Props suck these days and this was near the start of their fall when they lost Line 6 and introduced these piece of trash products. As far as a guitar and bass amp, they literally are f'ing terrible.

Both Units unusable for nice oldschool Eguitars!... experimenting Month with it!, also the Presets sounds so bad... ! Sounds absolute different to the Notes of my Teacher, with minimal Programmed Parameters! Thats the Point i leave my fav. DAW since 1.0... and buy Hardware ... with that inet-connection i can't play outside or in Clubs wheres no Inet! Fucked up! with R5 i played on stage... with 11 impossible... under the org Propellerheads, everything was so much better...
